Zulaika 02 zabiera do serca parku narodowego: Komodo, Padar, Pink Beach i Rinca – miejsca pełne dzikiej natury.
KELOR ISLAND
Ancient sailors called it "The Guardian." Dutch colonials built watchtowers on its crown. Local legend says it's a giant sea turtle turned to stone. A 20-minute climb rewards you with 360° views of dragon territories. The coral gardens below hide patrolling sea turtles in crystal shallows.
MANJERITE
Every sunset, tens of thousands of flying foxes launch from mangroves, creating a black river across orange skies. Ancient sea nomads believed these bats carried souls to the afterlife. Watch from your deck at 17:30. The sky will erupt. You'll forget to breathe.
PADAR ISLAND
Three crescent bays—turquoise, cobalt, jade—curve around dragon-spine ridges. Legend says a dragon princess died here protecting her brothers. Her body became the ridgeline. Her tears became three seas. The 30-minute climb is ruthless, but every explorer says: "I can die now."
PINK BEACH
One of only seven pink beaches on Earth. Microscopic red coral creates a rose-gold blush. Sailors once feared it was cursed by dragon blood. The reef drops from knee-deep to 50 meters—turtles, reef sharks, and octopi patrol waters so clear you'll think you're dreaming.
KOMODO ISLAND
Ground zero. The throne. Komodo dragons—largest lizards on Earth, unchanged for 4 million years. They sprint 20 km/h, kill with venom-laced bites. Trek with armed rangers. Watch them sun like kings. Feel evolution stare back. This isn't a zoo. It's their Kingdom
TAKA MAKASSAR
A sandbar that emerges at low tide, then disappears beneath waves. Sea nomads called it "Ghost Island"—a resting place for ocean spirits. Stand in the middle of the ocean with ankle-deep water. Snorkel where the island vanishes. Your private Maldives, but only for 2 hours.
MANTA POINT
A submerged pinnacle where currents collide, creating a cleaning station for manta rays with 7-meter wingspans. Divers call them "Royal Stingrays"—reincarnated ocean kings. The taboo: look, never touch. Watch them barrel-roll beneath you. Swimming with mantas IS your bucket list.
GILI LAWA
Twin islands—Lawa Darat and Lawa Laut—frame the golden highway between sky and sea. Ancient traders navigated by these peaks. At sunrise, watch the world ignite from savannah ridges. At sunset, the sky bleeds into three shades of fire. The 30-minute trek is steep, but the 360° view makes kings jealous.
SLABA ISLAND
Slaba rises like a fortress from deep blue—a volcanic dome crowned with savannah where white-bellied sea eagles hunt. Bajo fishermen call it "Pulau Rajawali" (Eagle Island), believing the birds are guardians of hidden treasures below. Dive the walls where currents deliver big fish, sharks, and swirling barracuda. Above: eagles. Below: an underwater avalanche of life.
SEBAYUR ISLAND
Sebayur guards one of Komodo's best-kept secrets: untouched coral gardens teeming with life. While others chase dragons, divers chase legends here—pygmy seahorses, ghost pipefishes, and macro critters hiding in soft coral forests. The bay is a natural aquarium. The hillside trek offers sunrise views without the Padar crowds.
KANAWA ISLAND
While crowds chase Pink Beach, explorers slip to Kanawa—pristine coral reefs, zero crowds. Fishermen once avoided it, believing the Sea Goddess protected these waters. The reef here is 80% live coral. Turtles nest on beaches. Blacktip sharks patrol shallows. This is the Komodo nobody talks about.
SABOLO ISLAND (RANGKO CAVE)
Hidden in Sabolo's limestone cliffs lies Rangko Cave—a saltwater cavern illuminated by a ceiling skylight. Sunbeams pierce the darkness, turning water neon blue. Local legend says bathing here grants courage to face dragons. Swim through the entrance tunnel. Surface inside the cathedral. Float in liquid sapphire while light dances on ancient rock.
BIDADARI ISLAND
Bidadari" means angel in Indonesian. One glance explains why. Powdery white sand. Turquoise shallows. Zero crowds. Fishermen say angels rest here between monsoons, leaving footprints in the sand that waves erase by dawn. Snorkel the fringing reef where baby blacktips patrol. This is your castaway fantasy—pristine, peaceful, perfect.

Zulaika 02 Liveaboard gave us access to Komodo’s quieter corners, which is rare these days. We arrived at Pink Beach sebelum 8 pagi—before the day boats—and it felt like we had the island to ourselves. The sand really does have that rosy tint, dan when the sun hits at mid-morning, it glows. As part of a dive group, we focused on sites with strong currents, and the captain’s knowledge of tidal patterns was impressive. One afternoon, we anchored near Gili Lawa Darat, and the wall dive there had schools of barracuda and white tip reef sharks—adrenaline rush in the best way. The boat’s layout feels intimate—only 5 cabins, so no拥挤. I stayed in the master suite, and the ensuite bathroom has real hot water pressure, which is a win. Only critique: the dive deck could use one more rinse tank for cameras. Tapi semua dive gear diperlakukan with care. Crew selalu offering fresh coconut or cold towel setelah dive—small gesture, big impact. This isn’t just a trip; it’s a curated journey.

Zulaika 02 Liveaboard hosted our small corporate group—seven of us in tech, needing space to recalibrate. The yacht’s five cabins ensured privacy, while the upper deck became our informal boardroom. We anchored near Komodo Island, hiked at dawn, then dived Castle Rock in the afternoon. The current was strong, but the dive team managed spacing perfectly. Evenings were quiet—local wine, grilled fish, no forced activities. The Irish winter had left us brittle; this restored balance. One minor point: the shower in cabin three had low pressure, but it was fixed swiftly. What impressed was the crew’s discretion. They knew when to appear, when to fade. Zulaika 02 isn’t about luxury as spectacle. It’s about space, silence, and sea.

Traveling aboard the Zulaika 02 Liveaboard with my wife for our anniversary, we found a rare balance of elegance and authenticity. The dive at Crystal Rock was exceptional—strong currents, schooling barracuda, and that surreal blue water. By evening, anchored near Gili Lawa, the crew arranged a private dinner on deck under the stars. The teak finishes and linen drapes felt understated but intentional, which I appreciated. As a Chicagoan, I’m used to sharp design, and Zulaika 02 delivers without ostentation. One note: the Wi-Fi was predictably spotty, but honestly, that was part of the charm. We unplugged properly. The staff anticipated needs—like warm towels post-dive—without hovering. It wasn’t about spectacle; it was about rhythm. And that rhythm made four days feel richer than weeks elsewhere.

The deck layout allows easy access for gear setup, dan crew sangat supportive—they even helped me stabilize my tripod during sunrise at Pink Beach. Warna pasirnya pink-nya subtle tapi real, dan contrast dengan birunya laut bikin composition jadi sangat dynamic. We also did a drift shoot at Manta Point, and capturing those mantas in motion was challenging tapi rewarding. Tapi overall, the balance between comfort and functionality is on point. Evening briefings with the guide so informative—dia tahu exactly where the light will hit setiap spot. Puas banget.

The vibe onboard is so relaxed tapi tetap profesional, perfect untuk team bonding. We anchored at Gili Lawa utara, and waking up to that sunrise—soft golden light hitting the ridge—rasanya seperti di painting. Later, we stopped by Manta Point, and the mantas were just gliding like they owned the ocean. Sangat surreal. Satu-satunya thing: WiFi cuma available di certain spots and agak inconsistent. Tapi to be fair, we were in Komodo—disconnecting itu bagian dari healing. Makanan? Kalau bisa, tambahin satu day trip ke Manjarite, I’d love to explore the caves more slowly.
