As a landscape photographer, I’m drawn to raw beauty—but rarely find it paired with true comfort. Lamain Voyage 2 shattered that expectation. Anchored at Bidadari Beach, I rose before dawn to capture the sand’s shifting hues, returning to warm cashmere robes and spiced tea. The yacht’s design respects the environment without sacrificing elegance: solar-assisted systems, reef-safe products, and silent electric tenders that glide over seagrass. At Castle Rock, we hovered above swirling barracuda schools, the visibility so sharp it felt like flying. The upper deck lounge, with its wraparound netting, became my editing sanctuary by day. My only quibble? The en-suite shower’s water pressure dipped during peak hours. But that’s the cost of off-grid luxury. What amazed me was how the crew balanced discretion with warmth—remembering my coffee order, offering silent company during golden hour shoots. This wasn’t just a vessel. It was a lens through which Komodo’s soul came into focus.

La master suite è una vera oasi di privacy e design, con linee pulite e un bagno en suite che sembra uscito da un resort cinque stelle. Abbiamo trascorso la prima notte a Sebayur Island, dove lo snorkeling tra i manta è stato semplicemente perfect. Il team di dive ha organizzato tutto con precisione svizzera, senza mai essere invadente. Il giorno dopo, l’approdo a Batu Bolong ci ha regalato un’alba indimenticabile – ho fatto un drone shot che ora troneggia nel mio salotto a Siena. L’unica piccola nota? Il wifi a bordo è funzionale ma un po’ lento per chi, come me, deve ancora gestire qualche mail di lavoro. Non è però un difetto, piuttosto una scelta di stile: qui sei veramente off the grid. L’itinerary era ben bilanciato tra momenti di avventura e pause di puro relax, con pranzi leggeri a base di pesce fresco serviti sul flybridge. I bambini dei nostri amici – 8 e 11 anni – si sono divertiti un mondo con le maschere e i tubi, ma anche con il kayak. Forse avrei voluto un giorno in più, solo per godermi il ritmo lento del phinisi. Il Lamain Voyage 2 non è solo un mezzo: è un modo di viaggiare, elegante e discreto.

Understated, Not Underdone
We chartered the Lamain Voyage 2 for a leadership retreat—eight executives, no fanfare. The yacht’s design avoids ostentation; instead, it offers clarity. Wide decks, uncluttered surfaces, ventilation that works with the wind, not against it. We spent a full day on Komodo Island, tracking dragons with a biologist who explained their venom’s coagulant properties. The hike was strenuous, but the guide paced it perfectly. Back on board, the open-air saloon became our war room—laptops, strategy maps, but always with sea breeze. One evening, we anchored at Pink Beach and dined on grilled reef fish with turmeric and galangal. The wine list was concise but intelligent—no showpieces, just drinkable bottles. My only critique: the tender could be slightly larger for wet exits. Otherwise, the balance of work, nature, and quiet was exactly what we needed.

Biz İTÜ’den bir araştırma ekibiyle çıktık – drone shot’lar ve underwater photography odaklıydı hedefimiz. Gili Lawa’da sabah dalgasız sulara daldık, orada coral health’in kayıt altına alınması için idealdi. Sonrasında Kanawa Island’a geçtik; orada master suite’den çıkarken gün doğumu, tam bir Nat Geo anıydı. Crew her detayı önceden hesaplamıştı – özel diet isteklerim bile sabah kahvaltısında karşımıza çıktı. Ama bir küçük eksik vardı: yine de 2 günlük trip biraz kısa geldi. Üçüncü geceyi Taka Makassar’da geçirmeyi tercih etmiştim, orası daha çok blue water diving sunuyor. Wifi ise beklediğim kadar güçlü değildi – ama bu kadar remote bir environment’da, tam anlamıyla disconnected olmak da aslında iyi geldi. Genel olarak, bu level’da bir phinisiyle bu kadar sade ama precision based bir experience, nadir. Özellikle service’in understated olması, zoraki lüks değil, real luxury hissettirdi. Sonraki expedition için mutlaka tekrar düşünülecek.

Coming from Sydney Harbour, I’m used to boats that shout. The Lamain Voyage 2 does the opposite. It listens. The galley served a spiced coconut broth with blue swimmer crab that tasted like childhood summers. Only quibble: USB-C ports in cabins would future-proof the charge setup. Otherwise, near perfection.

The yacht’s design is a masterclass in understated elegance: teak decks that never scorch, shaded loungers with just the right incline, and an open-air salon that blurs into the horizon. Castle Rock was a highlight—drifting above currents alive with manta rays while the crew narrated marine life with quiet expertise. If I’m being candid, the lower deck cabin had slight engine vibration at night—barely noticeable, but worth a future tweak. نظّمنا رحلة كوربوريت ريترت على متن لامين فويج 2، وكان الانطباع أولًا بالفخامة. التصميم الداخلي أنيق — يجمع بين الأصالة والإحساس الحديث. خلال توقفنا في كومودو آيلاند، قمنا بجولة مع مرشد خاص تعلمنا فيها الكثير عن التماسيح والطيور النادرة. ما أثار إعجابي حقًا هو التوازن بين العمل والاسترخاء: لدينا مساحة مخصصة للجلسات الصباحية، ثم وقت فراغ في باتو بولونغ حيث سبح الجميع. الـ experience برمتها كانت سلسة، رغم أن الإنترنت كان أحيانًا غير مستقر — لكن هذا جزء من جمال العزلة. الطاقم تعامل مع كل طلب بلباقة، والطعام كان فاخرًا، مع خيارات صحية ممتازة. لمسة شخصية مثل كرواسان طازج كل صباح جعلت الفارق. نوصي به بشدة للفرق التي تبحث عن إلهام في مكان مذهل.
