I came to Komodo after a grueling year, needing space more than sightseeing. Fenides Phinisi offered both. The first morning, I watched Padar Island emerge from mist from the bow—a slow, tectonic reveal. No one spoke. The yacht’s pace encourages presence. We spent a full day on Long Beach, building no structures, leaving no marks. The crew brought cold towels and infused water at just the right intervals. Snorkeling at Kanawa felt like floating over a living mosaic. My only note: the shower in cabin three had inconsistent pressure, but it was minor. The upper deck, with its low seating and 360-degree view, became my sanctuary. Evenings were spent with a single malt and the sound of water against the hull. This wasn’t indulgence for indulgence’s sake. It was space, well held.

Die Master Suite mit ihrem geschmackvollen, naturbelassenen Interieur und der privaten Aussicht aufs Meer war ein wahrer Rückzugsort. Unser Guide brachte uns zu Manta Point, wo wir bei leichtem Strömungstauchen mehr als ein Dutzend Mantas beobachten konnten – ein absoluter Höhepunkt. Später ankerten wir an Bidadari Beach, wo der Sand wie Puder wirkte und das Wasser kristallklar war. Ein kurzer Snack am Strand, danach ein entspanntes Sunset mit einem Glas Cuvée an Deck – das war pure Lebensqualität. Was die Fenides besonders macht, ist die ruhige Professionalität der Crew. Nicht aufdringlich, aber immer präsent, wenn man etwas braucht. Lediglich das WiFi war etwas instabil – kein großes Manko, da wir ohnehin digital detoxen wollten, aber für jene, die beruflich erreichbar sein müssen, vielleicht ein Punkt zur Verbesserung. Die 4-Tage-Itinerary war gut getimed, doch ein weiterer Tag im Rhythmus der Natur wäre noch tiefergehend gewesen. Einzigartig war auch der Drone Shot, den der Kapitän am letzten Morgen machte – unser kleines Paradies von oben. Ein feiner, zurückhaltender Luxus, der nicht protzt, sondern trägt.

Later, we drifted above Kanawa’s coral gardens, the visibility exceeding 30 meters. The yacht’s stabilizers minimized roll, crucial for long exposures. I worked from the foredeck, where the lack of railings meant unobstructed shots. The cabins are minimalist but warm, with linen that breathes in the heat. My only note: a dedicated charging drawer in the main saloon would help with battery turnover. But these are small things. This wasn’t a cruise. It was a journey, paced with intention. And Fenides was its perfect vessel.

Passamos também por Crystal Rock, onde mergulhamos em águas cristalinas repletas de raias e tartarugas. O serviço é impecável, mas o wi-fi fraco foi o único senão — não que eu tenha sentido falta, afinal, estávamos no meio do paraíso. A equipe antecipa cada desejo: massagem no deck ao amanhecer, coquetéis artesanais, um chef que transforma frutos do mar frescos em obras-primas. A experiência com o Fenides vai além de um simple cruzeiro; é uma imersão em elegância e natureza exuberante. Recomendo para casais que buscam exclusividade sem abrir mão do conforto five-star.

Le Fenides Phinisi s’est révélé être une véritable parenthèse élégante au cœur de Komodo. Avec mon mari, nous avons fêté nos 10 ans de mariage — un babymoon anticipé, pourrait-on dire — et le timing était juste perfect. L’itinéraire, soigneusement pensé, nous a emmenés à Gili Lawa Laut au lever du soleil, où la baignade dans ces eaux translucides restera gravée. Le master suite, spacieux et raffiné, offrait une vue continue sur la mer, et le lit en teck semblait flotter sur l’horizon. Le personnel, discret mais attentif, anticipait chaque besoin, même celui de ne rien demander. Nous avons fait une plongée douce à Batu Bolong — rien de trop technique, idéal en début de voyage — et le spot était incroyablement vivant. J’aurais juste souhaité un peu plus de stabilité sur le wifi, car partager une drone shot de Pink Beach depuis le bow m’aurait plu en temps réel. Ce n’est qu’un détail, bien sûr. Ce qui m’a marquée, c’est l’harmonie du bois noble, la lumière naturelle dans les espaces communs, et les petits déjeuners avec mangues locales et yaourt maison. Même nos deux enfants, âgés de 6 et 9 ans, ont adoré le swing fixé sur le pont arrière. Le capitaine a même rallongé de deux heures notre escale à Nusa Kode pour une randonnée impromptue. On sent que le luxe ici n’est pas ostentatoire : il est dans le timing, le silence, la justesse des choses.
