The Maj Oceanicは、photography expeditionとして選んだ正解だった。特にKalond Islandの夕暮れ、コウモリが一斉に飛び立つ瞬間をdeckから撮影できたのは、アングルとタイミングの両方でperfect。翌日のBidadari Beachでは、crewが朝食をビーチにセットアップしてくれ、その間に空がピンクに染まるgolden hourを逃さずキャッチ。船のblack hull designが水中の色を邪魔しないので、snorkeling sceneの撮影でも自然なトーンが得られた。ナビゲーションの精度も高く、潮の流れを計算したitineraryで、無駄な移動がない。ただ、charging stationがcabins内に一つしかなく、複数のカメラバッテリーを同時充電するのが少し煩わしかった。スタッフは静かにサポートしてくれるが、必要以上に存在を感じさせない。それが逆に、自然と向き合う時間を尊重している証拠だと思う。
