En tant que plongeur expérimenté et membre d’un small dive group, je suis exigeant sur la logistique et la qualité des sites. Le Maj Oceanic a surpassé mes attentes. Le bateau, bien que récent (2020), a déjà une âme — l’équilibre entre tradition phinisi et équipements premium est parfait. Notre guide de plongée connaissait chaque courant à Batu Bolong et Crystal Rock comme sa poche. À Castle Rock, le drop-off était spectaculaire, une muraille vivante de naplées, barracudas, et une tortue qui nous a accompagnés presque jusqu’à la remontée. Le matériel est top-notch, et le dive deck bien organisé — rarement vu aussi fluide. Les cabines sont spacieuses, mais j’aurais apprécié un peu plus d’isolation phonique lors des transferts. Le repas du soir, fusion indonésienne-méditerranéenne, mériterait un petit ajustement d’épices pour les palais plus audacieux. Le drone shot que le staff a capturé de notre sortie à Kalong Island est désormais encadré dans mon bureau. Ce n’était pas qu’un simple dive trip — c’était un vrai journey, bien orchestré, sans arrogance. Le Maj Oceanic comprend ce que signifie le mot 'discretion'.

오랜 친구들과의 friends getaway으로 선택한 The Maj Oceanic. 7개의 cabin이 전부 우리 일행이라 프라이버시와 자유가 완벽했어요. 특히 Manta Point에서의 diving은 말로 다 못 풀 정도로 gracefull했어요. 수천 마리의 바다가 새처럼 펼쳐지는 장면은 drone shot으로 찍어도 감정을 담기 힘들겠더라고요. Rinca Island에서의 trekking도 일정에 포함되어 있었는데, rangers와 함께하는 guided walk 덕분에 자연 생태를 깊이 이해할 수 있었어요. 승무원 팀은 디테일을 신경 썼고, 매 끼니마다 personalized menu를 제공했어요. 제가 개인적으로 중간에 한 번 더 free diving을 요청했을 때 유연하게 조정해준 것도 인상적이었어요. 다만, 5일 코스를 원했는데 4일밖에 예약이 안 된 점이 아쉬웠죠. 더 오래 머물고 싶은 마음이 들게 만드는 boat이에요. Le staff, discret mais attentif, a anticipé nos besoins avec une délicatesse rare. Une journée à Long Beach fut idéale pour flâner, le sable blanc comme du sucre, l’eau translucide — un vrai postcard moment. J’aurais aimé un peu plus de stabilité sur le wifi pour partager quelques instants en temps réel, mais cela a finalement contribué à notre déconnexion. We kozen The Maj Oceanic voor onze familievakantie met twee tieners, en wat een verfrissende verrassing was dat. De balance tussen ruimte en intimiteit aan boord voelt precies goed — de master suite is sober maar luxe, zonder overdadigheid. Onze jongens sliepen in een twin cabin die net iets kleiner is, maar nog steeds met perfecte airflow en genoeg stowage. Vanaf Long Beach tot Manta Point: elk stop was zorgvuldig gepland, maar nooit haastig. Bij Manta Point duikten we met de groep — de kids hadden hun eerste echte manta encounter, een moment dat je niet kunt forceren. De crew liet ze ruimte, maar stond direct paraat met extra tanks of een quick safety tip. Rinca Island was wilder dan verwacht; de rangers waren scherp, en de wandeling gaf ons een goed contrast met het watergevoel van de rest van het itinerary. Het enige wat we misten? Iets stabieler wifi — handig voor een drukke ouder die af en toe moet checken voor werk. Maar eerlijk: dat is geen fout van de Maj, eerder een teken dat je hier echt offline gaat. De dining setup is low-key elegant: veel verse vis, lokaal fruit, en een sommelier die geen druk maakt, maar wel perfecte pairings suggereert. Geen over-the-top thema-avonden, gelukkig. Voor ons, een gezin dat waarde hecht aan stilte, ruimte en authenticiteit: dit voelde als de juiste keuze.
