My partner and I chose Alfatran Phinisi Lombok for our honeymoon, and it exceeded every expectation. We started with a sunset welcome drink at Kanawa Island — the sky turned tangerine and lilac, and we just held hands in silence. The next day, we trekked Komodo Island with a ranger, and seeing the dragons up close was both thrilling and humbling. The yacht’s design is traditional but with modern comforts — like the rainfall shower and memory foam mattresses. One night, they set up a projector on the beach at Bidadari Beach. Watching ‘Before Sunrise’ with the ocean breeze was such a romantic touch. The wine list was surprisingly curated — not just house red. Only thing: the charging ports in the cabin were limited, so I had to charge my phone in the lounge. But that forced us to be more present. This journey felt less like a vacation and more like a reset. Alfatran understands the rhythm of slow travel.
