Familiebond op zee met Athira
Met drie generaties aan boord—mijn ouders, mijn kinderen van 8 en 12, en mijn zus met haar twins—was het een uitdaging om een cruise te vinden die zowel comfort als ruimte biedt. De Athira Phinisi overtrof onze verwachtingen. De layout is slim: de Master Suite voor de ouders, twee Standard Cabins voor de kinderen, elk met individuele airco-regeling. We voeren van Bidadari Beach naar Castle Rock, waar de kids gefascineerd waren door de komodo’s vanaf het dek. De lunch aan wal op Bidadari was een picnic-style buffet met gegrilde vis en mango salsa, served right on the beach. Wat me vooral opviel was de attention to detail—zo had de steward onze jongste een eigen snorkelmasker met cartoonprint klaargelegd. De crew regelde een kleine birthday surprise voor mijn moeder op de tweede avond; een simpel kaarsje op een coconut tart, maar het voelde deeply personal. Het enige wat we misten? Iets meer shaded seating op het achterdek—de midday zon was vrij intens, zelfs met premium sunscreen. Maar de overall itinerary was perfectly paced. Een zeldzame combinatie van luxe en familiegevoel.

corporate retreatの一環でAthira Phinisiを選びました。普段のミーティングとは一線を画す、非日常のsettingがチームのbondingを深めてくれました。Sebayur Islandのビーチで行ったstrategy sessionは、意外にも非常に生産的。自然の中にいると、創造性が自然と湧いてくるのを実感しました。Wae Reboへの陸路の移動は少し長かったですが、現地の長老との対話は、ビジネスを超えたinspirationをくれました。船内はmeeting spaceとしても十分な静けさとprivacyを確保。wifiは一部エリアで弱いものの、それがoff-the-gridの良さでもありました。もう1日延長して、Padar Islandの全景をdroneで撮影したかった。

As a wildlife photographer, I’m often frustrated by touristy operations, but the Athira Phinisi crew understood the rhythm of observation. At Komodo Island, our guide timed the hike to avoid both the heat and the crowds, allowing us to watch dragons feeding in near-isolation. The boat’s tenders were equipped with camera-drying boxes and padded trays—small but critical details. One dawn, we motored quietly to Castle Rock and drifted above the pinnacle as reef sharks circled below. The naturalist whispered commentary through a bone-conduction headset, preserving the silence. The Master Suite’s layout allowed me to lay out gear without cluttering shared spaces. My only note: the charging ports in the cabin were clustered, making simultaneous device use tricky. But the staff lent me a portable hub, which resolved it. This wasn’t just a trip—it was a field expedition with comfort.

I’ve sailed on several phinisi yachts, but the Athira Phinisi stands apart in its operational precision. The 25.7 meters are used with intention—every space serves a purpose, nothing decorative. Our route included two dives at Castle Rock, where the thermocline dropped sharply, and the crew had warm towels and ginger tea waiting post-dive. The galley’s consistency impressed me: seared tuna with tamarind glaze on night three was as refined as any London seafood bar. What surprised me most was the quiet confidence of the staff—no over-explanation, just competence. One night, anchored near Kalong Island, the generator shut down at 9 PM for ‘bat hours,’ a small but meaningful gesture toward ecological awareness. I appreciated that restraint. My only critique: the cabin lighting could be dimmer for true sleep hygiene. Otherwise, exceptional.
Multi-Gen Family Cruise, Seamless

Die Holzverarbeitung an Deck, die dezente Eleganz der Lounge – man merkt, dass 2018 mit Bedacht gebaut wurde. Ich buchte eine Standard Cabin, die durch ihre akustische Isolation beeindruckte. Unser Itinerary führte uns nach Padar Island, wo ich eine halbe Stunde allein auf dem Gipfel stand, nur das Rauschen des Windes. Später beim Snorkeling bei Kalong Island entdeckte ich einen Pygmäenseepferdchen – ein seltener Glücksfall. Die Athira setzt auf kleine Gruppen, was den Austausch mit der Crew vertiefte. Abends wurde auf dem Stern ein kleiner Filmabend organisiert – mit lokalen Dokus über die Meeresbiologie. Einzig die Kaffeemaschine hätte moderner sein können. Doch das Frühstück – frisch gepresster Orangensaft, Avocado auf geröstetem Brot, warme Croissants – entschädigte. Die Balance aus Aktivität und Stille war exakt richtig. Kein Overbooking, kein Massentourismus – echte Escape-Erfahrung.
Yoga na proa com vista para Rinca
Como praticante de yoga há 12 anos, escolhi o Athira Phinisi para meu wellness retreat. Eles oferecem sessões matinais na proa com uma instrutora local — o chão de madeira é firme, e o balanço suave do mar ajuda na concentração. De manhã, em Rinca Island, fizemos uma trilha curta com guia para ver os dragões. A energia da ilha é selvagem, muito diferente de Bali. O almoço picnic no Long Beach foi organizado com detalhes: toalhas felpudas, frutas tropicais cortadas e até um cooler com água de coco gelada. O banheiro do Standard Cabin é compacto, mas tem aquele chuveiro rain shower que realmente funciona. Não é 5-star em todos os sentidos, mas tem alma — e isso conta. O drone shot da equipe no final do dia mostrando o iate ancorado entre as ilhas valeu como presente de aniversário antecipado.

في الأشهر الأولى من الحمل، أردت مكاناً هادئاً بعيداً عن الصخب. اختار زوجي رحلة على Athira Phinisi كـbabymoon، وكان القرار حكيماً. الـMaster Suite تطل على جانبي اليخوت، مما يسمح بدخول ضوء الصباح بلطف. توقفنا في Padar Island حيث تسلقنا لل viewpoint القصير واستمتعنا بمنظر بانورامي خلاب. لم أكن أتوقع أن أكون قادرة على المشي كثيراً، لكن التنظيم كان مثالياً — استراحة كل 10 دقائق، مياه باردة، ومرشد صبور. تم تعديل قائمة الطعام لتناسب حملي، مع إمكانية طلب وجبات خفيفة في أي وقت. صعدت بطائر drone في Pink Beach وحصلت على لقطات نادرة من الطيور المائية. الوحيد الذي لم يكن مثالياً هو ضجيج محركات القوارب الصغيرة في الصباح، لكنه أمر لا يمكن التحكم به. الشعور بالراحة كان مستمراً، من الأغطية القطنية الثقيلة إلى الروائح العطرية في الكابينة.

Als Naturfotograf brauche ich Boote, die Nähe zum Ökosystem ermöglichen, ohne es zu stören. Die Athira Phinisi überzeugte durch ihre diskrete Präsenz. Kein lautes Ankerwerfen, keine Massenabfertigung. Wir starteten bei Long Beach, wo ich eine Stunde lang ein Seepferdchen filmte – das Wasser war so klar, dass ich kaum filtern musste. Später bei Kalong Island warteten wir auf den exakten Moment, wenn die Fledermäuse ausfliegen – die Crew kannte die tide times perfekt. Mein Standard Cabin war klein, aber makellos – besonders die Belüftung war clever gelöst. Die Athira setzt auf Nachhaltigkeit: kein Plastik, eigene Wasserfilteranlage, lokale Zutaten. Abends wurden Vorträge über Korallenriffe gehalten – informativ, nicht aufdringlich. Einzig der drone shot von Padar Island gelang nicht ganz – zu viel Wind. Doch das war marginal. Die Athira ist kein Showboat, sondern ein Tool für echte Begegnung mit der Wildnis. Für Reisende, die mehr wollen als ein Instagram-Hintergrund, ist sie ideal.
