Notre petit groupe d’amis a choisi le Kaia Explorer pour fêter les 40 ans de Camille — une decision parfaite. À 12, nous avions largement l’espace malgré les deux cabines, et chaque escale s’est révélée une étape précise de notre itinerary. Manjarite, par exemple, nous a offert ce contraste si rare : sable rose presque trop parfait, mais surtout une faune subaquatique intense à seulement 10 mètres du bord. J’ai insisté pour qu’on fasse un deuxième snorkel à Crystal Rock, et le capitaine a ajusté l’horaire sans aucun souci — un vrai signe de flexibilité.
Le design du phinisi, sobre mais fonctionnel, correspond exactement à ce que l’on espérait : pas de surcharge décorative, du teck bien entretenu, et une master suite particulièrement silencieuse à l’arrière. La cuisine était constante — poissons grillés, mangue locale, riz coco — rien de tape-à-l’œil, mais toujours frais. On a même réussi à capter un drone shot de Kalong Island au coucher, alors que les chauves-souris commençaient leur migration. Un moment rare.
Petit bémol : le wifi, bien sûr, quasi inexistant — mais après tout, c’est ce qu’on cherche, non ? J’aurais juste aimé une journée de plus. Peut-être une extension vers Batu Bolong la prochaine fois. Le crew, discret mais attentif, a compris l’essentiel : l’élégance, c’est de ne pas en faire trop.

El Kaia Explorer nos recibió con esa mezcla rara de rustic-luxe que solo los phinisi bien ejecutados logran. Viajamos como familia con niños pequeños —algo que normalmente evitamos por el tema de espacio— pero las dos cabins, especialmente el master suite en popa, ofrecieron suficiente privacidad y comodidad. La tripulación fue discreta pero atenta, ajustando horarios para que los kids pudieran nadar en aguas tranquilas de Gili Lawa, donde el snorkel fue casi como un aquarium natural. Uno de los highlights fue el picnic en Long Beach, justo después de un drone shot que capturó toda la proa del barco contra el atardecer. Obviamente, no esperábamos full wifi en medio del parque nacional, pero un poco más de señal hubiera ayudado para compartir algunas fotos en tiempo real —sí, soy de esos que no puede desconectarse del todo. El itinerario fue bien equilibrado: no demasiado denso, pero con momentos perfectos en Rinca Island, donde los niños vieron los komodos desde cerca sin sentirse abrumados. Lo que más valoré fue la cocina: comidas frescas, con toques indonesios suaves que incluso los paladares más exigentes (léase: mi hija de 6 años) aprobaron. El barco, construido en 2020, se siente nuevo sin ser frío; hay calidez en la madera y en el trato. Choosing Kaia Explorer for our honeymoon was less about luxury displays and more about presence—being fully somewhere. The cabin, though compact, felt curated: teak finishes, linen drapes, a reading nook by the porthole. We spent our first full day at Gili Lawa, snorkeling off the bow. The visibility was startling, and the crew set up a private lunch on the eastern cove—just us, a cooler, and volcanic rock underfoot. At night, anchored near Rinca, the sounds were wind and water. No generators running. That quiet is rare. One evening, the captain took us to Kalong Island at dusk. Watching the fruit bats spiral into the mangroves as the sky bruised purple—that was the kind of moment you don’t photograph, just hold. The staff anticipated needs without hovering. My only quibble? A proper espresso machine would elevate mornings. But the local coffee, boiled in a pot, had its charm. This wasn’t about indulgence; it was about stillness, and Kaia delivered.
Kaia Explorer: equilibrio tra lusso e natura
Avevo prenotato la Kaia Explorer per un breve wellness retreat post-progetto intenso a Milano, e non cercavo lusso sfrenato, ma armonia. La barca, pur essendo un phinisi di 28 metri, mantiene un’intimità rara: solo due cabine, entrambe con master suite setup impeccabile. Ho apprezzato particolarmente il silenzio tra un’ancoraggio e l’altro – niente motori inutili, solo vela e rispetto. Il nostro itinerary ha toccato Pink Beach e Taka Makassar, e a entrambi i posti il team ha saputo dosare tempo libero e attività senza mai risultare invadente. A Pink Beach, la snorkeling session è stata perfetta, con avvistamento di babbuini e fondali rosa ancora intatti. A Taka Makassar, il drone shot dell’atollo dall’alto ha reso giustizia alla sua forma a stella – un must per chi ama la geometria naturale. Come solista, ho trovato l’atmosfera ideale: nessuna pressione sociale, solo spazi curati per lettura, yoga sul ponte al tramonto e pasti leggeri ma ricercati – molto mediterraneo con twist indonesiano. Unico piccolo trade-off: il wifi è limited, ma forse è stato un bene. Avrei voluto un giorno in più – 4 notti sono poche per staccare veramente. Tuttavia, tutto è stato calibrato con precisione: dalla cortesia discreta dell’equipaggio alla gestione dei trasferimenti. La Kaia Explorer non urla lusso, lo respira.

Six of us—old university mates—booked the Kaia Explorer for a reunion. Needed somewhere that felt remote but not punishing. Padar Island’s west flank at sunrise was worth the early wake-up; we hiked alone, no other groups in sight. The boat’s layout kept us together but never on top of one another—the shaded aft deck became our poker zone by night. Crew was discreet, letting us set the tone. One evening, anchored near Taka Makassar, we swam under a sky so dense with stars it looked filtered. Food was consistently good, not overly fussed—fresh, balanced, with decent wine that didn’t break the bank. Only note: the tender could be a touch more stable when boarding after swims. But that’s nitpicking. What stays with me is the rhythm—slow days, deep conversations, no pressure to perform. Kaia Explorer doesn’t shout. It simply holds space for real moments.

ما شاء الله، ما كنا نتوقع إن الرحلة تكون بهذه الروعة. حجزنا رحلة كايا إكسبلورر بمناسبة عيد ميلاد زوجتي الـ40، وكان الاختيار ممتاز.虽然是 standard class، لكن الـmaster suite كان أوسع مما توقعنا، والديكور يعطي إحساس بالفخامة بدون تكلف. رحلتنا بدأت من كاناوا آيلاند، حيث السباحة مع قناديل البحر الهادئة، وبعدها توجهنا لبياداري بيتش – هذا المكان يجب أن يُشاهد بـdrone shot عشان تقدر تقدر جماله الكامل. الطاقم كان محترف بشكل مثير، خصوصا الكابتن ريكو اللي صمم لنا itinerary مخصص مع وجبات عشاء على ظلال الشموع. الوحيدة الصغيرة كانت أن الـair conditioning في المقصورة الخلفية كانت بطيئة شوي في التبريد، لكن خدمة الـbutler طعّمتنا بالمشروبات الباردة طول الوقت فما حسّينا. التجربة برمتها كانت perfect، وننصح أي زوجين يبحثون عن خصوصية ورقي.

The only limitation? Limited space for bulky camera housings, though they accommodated us well. Still, the attention to detail—from reef-safe sunscreen to personalized dive logs—was impeccable. This wasn’t a boat; it was a floating extension of the wild.
