Explore the magical islands you will visit aboard Alfatran Phinisi Bajo. Each stop offers a unique adventure from pink beaches to dragon encounters.
KELOR ISLAND
Ancient sailors called it "The Guardian." Dutch colonials built watchtowers on its crown. Local legend says it's a giant sea turtle turned to stone. A 20-minute climb rewards you with 360° views of dragon territories. The coral gardens below hide patrolling sea turtles in crystal shallows.
MANJERITE
Every sunset, tens of thousands of flying foxes launch from mangroves, creating a black river across orange skies. Ancient sea nomads believed these bats carried souls to the afterlife. Watch from your deck at 17:30. The sky will erupt. You'll forget to breathe.
PADAR ISLAND
Three crescent bays—turquoise, cobalt, jade—curve around dragon-spine ridges. Legend says a dragon princess died here protecting her brothers. Her body became the ridgeline. Her tears became three seas. The 30-minute climb is ruthless, but every explorer says: "I can die now."
PINK BEACH
One of only seven pink beaches on Earth. Microscopic red coral creates a rose-gold blush. Sailors once feared it was cursed by dragon blood. The reef drops from knee-deep to 50 meters—turtles, reef sharks, and octopi patrol waters so clear you'll think you're dreaming.
KOMODO ISLAND
Ground zero. The throne. Komodo dragons—largest lizards on Earth, unchanged for 4 million years. They sprint 20 km/h, kill with venom-laced bites. Trek with armed rangers. Watch them sun like kings. Feel evolution stare back. This isn't a zoo. It's their Kingdom
TAKA MAKASSAR
A sandbar that emerges at low tide, then disappears beneath waves. Sea nomads called it "Ghost Island"—a resting place for ocean spirits. Stand in the middle of the ocean with ankle-deep water. Snorkel where the island vanishes. Your private Maldives, but only for 2 hours.
MANTA POINT
A submerged pinnacle where currents collide, creating a cleaning station for manta rays with 7-meter wingspans. Divers call them "Royal Stingrays"—reincarnated ocean kings. The taboo: look, never touch. Watch them barrel-roll beneath you. Swimming with mantas IS your bucket list.
GILI LAWA
Twin islands—Lawa Darat and Lawa Laut—frame the golden highway between sky and sea. Ancient traders navigated by these peaks. At sunrise, watch the world ignite from savannah ridges. At sunset, the sky bleeds into three shades of fire. The 30-minute trek is steep, but the 360° view makes kings jealous.
SLABA ISLAND
Slaba rises like a fortress from deep blue—a volcanic dome crowned with savannah where white-bellied sea eagles hunt. Bajo fishermen call it "Pulau Rajawali" (Eagle Island), believing the birds are guardians of hidden treasures below. Dive the walls where currents deliver big fish, sharks, and swirling barracuda. Above: eagles. Below: an underwater avalanche of life.
SEBAYUR ISLAND
Sebayur guards one of Komodo's best-kept secrets: untouched coral gardens teeming with life. While others chase dragons, divers chase legends here—pygmy seahorses, ghost pipefishes, and macro critters hiding in soft coral forests. The bay is a natural aquarium. The hillside trek offers sunrise views without the Padar crowds.
KANAWA ISLAND
While crowds chase Pink Beach, explorers slip to Kanawa—pristine coral reefs, zero crowds. Fishermen once avoided it, believing the Sea Goddess protected these waters. The reef here is 80% live coral. Turtles nest on beaches. Blacktip sharks patrol shallows. This is the Komodo nobody talks about.
SABOLO ISLAND (RANGKO CAVE)
Hidden in Sabolo's limestone cliffs lies Rangko Cave—a saltwater cavern illuminated by a ceiling skylight. Sunbeams pierce the darkness, turning water neon blue. Local legend says bathing here grants courage to face dragons. Swim through the entrance tunnel. Surface inside the cathedral. Float in liquid sapphire while light dances on ancient rock.
BIDADARI ISLAND
Bidadari" means angel in Indonesian. One glance explains why. Powdery white sand. Turquoise shallows. Zero crowds. Fishermen say angels rest here between monsoons, leaving footprints in the sand that waves erase by dawn. Snorkel the fringing reef where baby blacktips patrol. This is your castaway fantasy—pristine, peaceful, perfect.

As a landscape photographer, I’m selective about expeditions. Alfatran Phinisi Bajo offered access to Taka Makassar and Crystal Rock with logistical ease and zero compromise on comfort. The yacht’s position at first light was always perfect—no circling for angles. At Crystal Rock, the captain timed slack tide so we could drift along the reef without resistance. My Nikon handled the contrast, but it was the human detail that surprised me: the first mate noticed my lens fogging and produced a custom silica pouch by noon. Cabins were acoustically insulated—no engine rumble, even at night. The Master Suite’s layout allowed me to lay out gear without cluttering the space. Only quibble: limited power outlets near the bed. But the staff lent me a multi-port adapter without fuss. By day four, I’d shot my best Komodo series to date. The Alfatran crew understand that great images begin with calm.

I needed: solitude with safety. Aku booking last minute dan surprised how seamless everything was. Aku spend most mornings journaling di deck sambil minum teh jahe. Crew tidak overbearing, tapi aware—kadang bawa snack tanpa diminta. Di hari ketiga, kami dive di Crystal Rock, current-nya strong tapi worth it. Hanya, breakfast kadang agak late, mungkin karena kapal sedang bergerak. Tapi overall, the solitude and rhythm of the sea made this journey deeply restorative.

O único senão: o ventilador do banheiro no Standard Cabin fez barulho à noite.

Taking our three children—ages 8, 11, and 14—on the Alfatran Phinisi Bajo was either genius or madness. It turned out to be both, in the best way. The crew had a way with kids that didn’t infantilise; they taught them knot-tying, basic fish ID, even helped them log dives on waterproof slates. We spent a full day on Komodo Island, watching dragons from a safe perch while our guide explained their venomous bite with the gravitas of a documentary narrator. Later, at Bidadari Beach, the kids built sandcastles while we sipped pandan-infused iced tea. The boat’s layout meant we could spread out—teenagers claimed the upper deck, younger ones slept in the forward cabin with a steward checking in post-dinner. Meals were communal but flexible: smaller plates for the littles, spice levels adjusted. The only hiccup? One night, the generator failed briefly—nothing serious, but it did reset the fridge. They compensated with a surprise beachside barbecue the next evening, complete with fire dancers. It wasn’t flawless, but it was alive. And that’s what we wanted.

船员在Taka Makassar安排了浮潜倒数,水下举牌‘Happy New Year’。

As CEO, I needed a corporate retreat that balanced reflection with subtle stimulation—Alfatran Phinisi Bajo delivered. We chartered for six days with twelve colleagues. Held morning strategy sessions on the aft deck, laptops on teak tables, then freed the afternoons for Manta Point or quiet reading. The crew never hovered, yet coffee appeared precisely when energy dipped. At Wae Rebo, we arranged a private cultural visit—remote, spiritual, deeply grounding. The village elder’s words on intergenerational stewardship resonated through the rest of the journey. Only improvement? The Wi-Fi bandwidth limited video conferencing, but perhaps that was a blessing. By day four, we’d stopped checking inboxes. The yacht’s rhythm—slow, steady, intentional—rewired our pace. We left with clearer vision, and a few of us even swam across the bay at Taka Makassar at sunrise, just because we could.
