About Behike Phinisi
Behike Phinisi took the conventional boundary between the wheelhouse and the social deck and dissolved it. The open bar is built into the structure surrounding the helm, creating a fluid, unhurried space where guests drift naturally between sundowners and conversation with the captain — an informality that transforms a charter into something closer to a sailing club than a scheduled tour. At 31.15 meters, built from ironwood with a professional staff of eight to nine, Behike carries up to twelve guests with the confidence of a well-crewed vessel and the ease of one where formality was never really the point. Starlink connectivity keeps the world accessible when desired and ignorable when not, while the Mitsubishi 8DC10 engine maintains twelve knots between Komodo's islands with no drama. The Caribbean-influenced design ethos shows most in the evenings, when the bar lights warm the deck and the conversation outlasts the sunset. KomodoExplorer Indonesia presents Behike Phinisi for guests who want their charter to feel like the best evening they've had in years, repeated every night.

◈
KELOR ISLAND
Ancient sailors called it "The Guardian." Dutch colonials built watchtowers on its crown. Local legend says it's a giant sea turtle turned to stone. A 20-minute climb rewards you with 360° views of dragon territories. The coral gardens below hide patrolling sea turtles in crystal shallows.
◈
MANJERITE
Every sunset, tens of thousands of flying foxes launch from mangroves, creating a black river across orange skies. Ancient sea nomads believed these bats carried souls to the afterlife. Watch from your deck at 17:30. The sky will erupt. You'll forget to breathe.
◈
PADAR ISLAND
Three crescent bays—turquoise, cobalt, jade—curve around dragon-spine ridges. Legend says a dragon princess died here protecting her brothers. Her body became the ridgeline. Her tears became three seas. The 30-minute climb is ruthless, but every explorer says: "I can die now."
◈
PINK BEACH
One of only seven pink beaches on Earth. Microscopic red coral creates a rose-gold blush. Sailors once feared it was cursed by dragon blood. The reef drops from knee-deep to 50 meters—turtles, reef sharks, and octopi patrol waters so clear you'll think you're dreaming.
◈
KOMODO ISLAND
Ground zero. The throne. Komodo dragons—largest lizards on Earth, unchanged for 4 million years. They sprint 20 km/h, kill with venom-laced bites. Trek with armed rangers. Watch them sun like kings. Feel evolution stare back. This isn't a zoo. It's their Kingdom
◈
TAKA MAKASSAR
A sandbar that emerges at low tide, then disappears beneath waves. Sea nomads called it "Ghost Island"—a resting place for ocean spirits. Stand in the middle of the ocean with ankle-deep water. Snorkel where the island vanishes. Your private Maldives, but only for 2 hours.
◈
MANTA POINT
A submerged pinnacle where currents collide, creating a cleaning station for manta rays with 7-meter wingspans. Divers call them "Royal Stingrays"—reincarnated ocean kings. The taboo: look, never touch. Watch them barrel-roll beneath you. Swimming with mantas IS your bucket list.
◈
GILI LAWA
Twin islands—Lawa Darat and Lawa Laut—frame the golden highway between sky and sea. Ancient traders navigated by these peaks. At sunrise, watch the world ignite from savannah ridges. At sunset, the sky bleeds into three shades of fire. The 30-minute trek is steep, but the 360° view makes kings jealous.
◈
SLABA ISLAND
Slaba rises like a fortress from deep blue—a volcanic dome crowned with savannah where white-bellied sea eagles hunt. Bajo fishermen call it "Pulau Rajawali" (Eagle Island), believing the birds are guardians of hidden treasures below. Dive the walls where currents deliver big fish, sharks, and swirling barracuda. Above: eagles. Below: an underwater avalanche of life.
◈
SEBAYUR ISLAND
Sebayur guards one of Komodo's best-kept secrets: untouched coral gardens teeming with life. While others chase dragons, divers chase legends here—pygmy seahorses, ghost pipefishes, and macro critters hiding in soft coral forests. The bay is a natural aquarium. The hillside trek offers sunrise views without the Padar crowds.
◈
KANAWA ISLAND
While crowds chase Pink Beach, explorers slip to Kanawa—pristine coral reefs, zero crowds. Fishermen once avoided it, believing the Sea Goddess protected these waters. The reef here is 80% live coral. Turtles nest on beaches. Blacktip sharks patrol shallows. This is the Komodo nobody talks about.
◈
SABOLO ISLAND (RANGKO CAVE)
Hidden in Sabolo's limestone cliffs lies Rangko Cave—a saltwater cavern illuminated by a ceiling skylight. Sunbeams pierce the darkness, turning water neon blue. Local legend says bathing here grants courage to face dragons. Swim through the entrance tunnel. Surface inside the cathedral. Float in liquid sapphire while light dances on ancient rock.
◈
BIDADARI ISLAND
Bidadari" means angel in Indonesian. One glance explains why. Powdery white sand. Turquoise shallows. Zero crowds. Fishermen say angels rest here between monsoons, leaving footprints in the sand that waves erase by dawn. Snorkel the fringing reef where baby blacktips patrol. This is your castaway fantasy—pristine, peaceful, perfect.

Kein Massenbetrieb, sondern ein feeling of discovery.

Behike Phinisi jadi pilihan untuk babymoon sekaligus quality time bareng mertua. Pemandangan di Sebayur Island tuh surreal, airnya seperti kristal, dan the crew thoughtfully arranged a private lunch di pantai yang deserted banget. Anak-anak excited banget snorkeling bareng manta, sementara Ibu sempat bilang, 'Ini kayak film National Geographic.' Kabin Master Suite luas, king bed-nya nyaman, dan toiletries-nya premium. Cuma sayang, wifi di malam hari agak lemot — tapi jujur, kami malah lebih enjoy ngobrol di deck sambil minum teh jahe. Dapurnya konsisten, dari nasi goreng komodo sampai grilled lobster with herb butter, everything tasted fresh. Would’ve loved one more night at anchor, tapi overall, sangat well-curated untuk multi-generational trip.

I booked this trip as part of my personal sabbatical — needed to reset after two years of nonstop work. Behike Phinisi turned out to be the perfect sanctuary. The wellness program includes morning meditation, fresh-pressed juices, and journaling spots on deck. We anchored near Kalong Island at dusk, and the silence — broken only by bat sounds and gentle waves — was profound. Crew tidak pernah memaksa interaksi; mereka just appear when needed. Kabin saya, Standard Cabin, simple tapi functional, with excellent ventilation. Saya wish there was more guided nature walk, tapi mungkin itu nanti untuk trip berikutnya. For now, I’m grateful for the stillness this boat provided.
