I’ve sailed several phinisi, but Andamari Phinisi stands apart in execution. The 2019 build means everything works—seamlessly. We anchored at Wainilu for two dives: first at dawn, when the reef wakes, then a twilight drift. The dive team was meticulous—gear laid out, weights ready, safety sausage in the BCD pocket. The Standard Cabin was compact but perfectly appointed: silent fan, USB ports, a reading light that didn’t spill. At Gili Lawa, we spent hours snorkeling, then returned to chilled cucumber towels and fresh coconut. The captain adjusted course to避 a squall—smooth, unannounced, effective. Dinner was a slow affair: tamarind-marinated seabass, followed by a dark chocolate tart. The only note: the master shower drain clogged once—likely sand—but cleared within minutes. This isn’t flashy luxury; it’s intelligent, understated comfort. Komodo Island’s ridge walk offered panoramic drama, but the real joy was the quiet between moments.

As someone from Sorong, I’ve seen Papua’s beauty—but Komodo from Andamari Phinisi was different. The landscape is dramatic, almost alien. Børnene elskede Crystal Rock og havde det sjovt med padekspeditionen til Loh Liang, mens vi voksne havde boardmøder på bagdækket med kaffe og havudsigt. Skibet er bredt nok til, at man ikke løber over hinanden, og de to børneværelser var praktisk placeret tæt på vores Master Suite. Skipperen var ekstremt fleksibel med måltider – børnene fik nemlig ikke nok protein én aften, men det blev hurtigt justeret. Drømmen var naturligvis drone shot fra Kalong Island, som vi fik som familievideo efterfølgende. Måske havde vi godt af én ekstra nat – otte dage i stedet for syv – men det var kun fordi vi ikke ville væk. Alt var ren, professionelt og diskret. Perfekt blending af work og play.

As part of a conservation dive team, we needed reliability and range—Andamari Phinisi delivered both. Over seven days, we logged twelve dives, focusing on Wainilu and Crystal Rock to assess bleaching patterns. The boat’s tender had ample space for our gear, and the dive platform was non-slip even when wet. The captain adjusted routes based on swell and current, ensuring safety without compromising access. My Standard Cabin had excellent ventilation—critical after long dives in humid heat. Evenings were spent reviewing footage in the lounge, where the screen and sound system were unexpectedly professional. At Komodo Island, we conducted a shoreline survey; the rangers appreciated our findings. The chef accommodated dietary restrictions without fuss—gluten-free, dairy-light, always flavourful. Only critique: the dive log printouts were handwritten, not digital. But the crew’s attentiveness made up for it. This isn’t a floating hotel—it’s a vessel with intent.

Family Escape with Kids di Komodo
Taking our two kids (8 and 11) on Andamari Phinisi was a bold move, tapi surprisingly smooth. Standard Cabin도 생각보다 넓고, storage 설계가 잘 돼 있어서 불편함 없이 지냈다. 다만, 마지막 날 Kalong Island로 향할 때 약간의 engine noise가 있었지만, 전체적으로는 프라이빗 요트로서의 quality가 훌륭했다. 특히 mixologist가 만들어주는 evening cocktail이 매일 기대됐다.

Saya naik Andamari Phinisi untuk photography expedition fokus pada budaya lokal. Wae Rebo adalah highlight — the village’s harmony with nature was humbling. Captured intimate portraits of elders in their traditional attire; the crew ensured permissions were respected.
