A Corporate Reset Among Dragons
We chartered Cajoma V Phinisi for a five-day leadership retreat, and it achieved what no Swiss alpine lodge ever has: genuine disconnection with purpose. The boat handled our group of twelve seamlessly—spacious common decks allowed for morning briefings, while the lower lounge became our strategy den. A morning hike on Komodo Island, timed to avoid the midday heat, was both humbling and invigorating. Watching the dragons move like ancient sentinels through dry savannah, then returning to a chilled Riesling on deck—it recalibrated our pace. Kanawa Island offered a perfect afternoon for team snorkeling; the coral gardens there are still vivid in my mind. The only friction? Limited bandwidth for late-night emails—intentional, perhaps, but a slight challenge for one colleague. Still, the crew’s discretion and quiet professionalism made it easy to let go. Meals were Indonesian-inspired but restrained—no overwhelm, just balance. This wasn’t team-building; it was re-souling.
