Batu Bolong’s submerged plateau offered dramatic wide angles, especially with a passing school of barracuda. The Standard Cabin was compact but well-finished, with clever storage for gear. I appreciated the absence of forced socialising—dinners were convivial but never obligatory. The only shortfall? The promised drone charging station was non-functional. Still, the captain rerouted to extend our time at Nusa Kode, where komodo dragons prowled near the tide line. That alone made the trip.
