Explore the magical islands you will visit aboard Ocean Angel Liveaboard. Each stop offers a unique adventure from pink beaches to dragon encounters.
KELOR ISLAND
Ancient sailors called it "The Guardian." Dutch colonials built watchtowers on its crown. Local legend says it's a giant sea turtle turned to stone. A 20-minute climb rewards you with 360° views of dragon territories. The coral gardens below hide patrolling sea turtles in crystal shallows.
MANJERITE
Every sunset, tens of thousands of flying foxes launch from mangroves, creating a black river across orange skies. Ancient sea nomads believed these bats carried souls to the afterlife. Watch from your deck at 17:30. The sky will erupt. You'll forget to breathe.
PADAR ISLAND
Three crescent bays—turquoise, cobalt, jade—curve around dragon-spine ridges. Legend says a dragon princess died here protecting her brothers. Her body became the ridgeline. Her tears became three seas. The 30-minute climb is ruthless, but every explorer says: "I can die now."
PINK BEACH
One of only seven pink beaches on Earth. Microscopic red coral creates a rose-gold blush. Sailors once feared it was cursed by dragon blood. The reef drops from knee-deep to 50 meters—turtles, reef sharks, and octopi patrol waters so clear you'll think you're dreaming.
KOMODO ISLAND
Ground zero. The throne. Komodo dragons—largest lizards on Earth, unchanged for 4 million years. They sprint 20 km/h, kill with venom-laced bites. Trek with armed rangers. Watch them sun like kings. Feel evolution stare back. This isn't a zoo. It's their Kingdom
TAKA MAKASSAR
A sandbar that emerges at low tide, then disappears beneath waves. Sea nomads called it "Ghost Island"—a resting place for ocean spirits. Stand in the middle of the ocean with ankle-deep water. Snorkel where the island vanishes. Your private Maldives, but only for 2 hours.
MANTA POINT
A submerged pinnacle where currents collide, creating a cleaning station for manta rays with 7-meter wingspans. Divers call them "Royal Stingrays"—reincarnated ocean kings. The taboo: look, never touch. Watch them barrel-roll beneath you. Swimming with mantas IS your bucket list.
GILI LAWA
Twin islands—Lawa Darat and Lawa Laut—frame the golden highway between sky and sea. Ancient traders navigated by these peaks. At sunrise, watch the world ignite from savannah ridges. At sunset, the sky bleeds into three shades of fire. The 30-minute trek is steep, but the 360° view makes kings jealous.
SLABA ISLAND
Slaba rises like a fortress from deep blue—a volcanic dome crowned with savannah where white-bellied sea eagles hunt. Bajo fishermen call it "Pulau Rajawali" (Eagle Island), believing the birds are guardians of hidden treasures below. Dive the walls where currents deliver big fish, sharks, and swirling barracuda. Above: eagles. Below: an underwater avalanche of life.
SEBAYUR ISLAND
Sebayur guards one of Komodo's best-kept secrets: untouched coral gardens teeming with life. While others chase dragons, divers chase legends here—pygmy seahorses, ghost pipefishes, and macro critters hiding in soft coral forests. The bay is a natural aquarium. The hillside trek offers sunrise views without the Padar crowds.
KANAWA ISLAND
While crowds chase Pink Beach, explorers slip to Kanawa—pristine coral reefs, zero crowds. Fishermen once avoided it, believing the Sea Goddess protected these waters. The reef here is 80% live coral. Turtles nest on beaches. Blacktip sharks patrol shallows. This is the Komodo nobody talks about.
SABOLO ISLAND (RANGKO CAVE)
Hidden in Sabolo's limestone cliffs lies Rangko Cave—a saltwater cavern illuminated by a ceiling skylight. Sunbeams pierce the darkness, turning water neon blue. Local legend says bathing here grants courage to face dragons. Swim through the entrance tunnel. Surface inside the cathedral. Float in liquid sapphire while light dances on ancient rock.
BIDADARI ISLAND
Bidadari" means angel in Indonesian. One glance explains why. Powdery white sand. Turquoise shallows. Zero crowds. Fishermen say angels rest here between monsoons, leaving footprints in the sand that waves erase by dawn. Snorkel the fringing reef where baby blacktips patrol. This is your castaway fantasy—pristine, peaceful, perfect.

As an experienced diver, I appreciate good marine biodiversity — and Ocean Angel Liveaboard delivered. Trip focus on snorkeling spots: Nusa Kode, Sebayur, Taka Makassar. All excellent. Taka Makassar especially — current moderate, but visibility over 20 meters. Reef structure complex, full of life. Ocean Angel’s guide knew exact spots for turtles and mantas. Di Sebayur Island, we saw a pod of dolphins passing by — magical moment. Kapalnya nyaman, tapi not overly glamor — which I like. More functional luxury. Kabin simple tapi clean, AC effective. Makanan: fresh, well-seasoned. Grilled tuna with sambal dabu-dabu — perfect. Satu critique: lebih banyak time di water would be ideal, tapi I get it, need to move between islands. Ocean Angel understand the rhythm of the sea. Padar Island for photo, but real beauty is underwater.

I’ve sailed the archipelago before, but never with such considered pacing. The Ocean Angel Liveaboard struck the right balance between exploration and ease. Our group, all in our fifties, appreciated the absence of rushed transfers. A dawn arrival at Taka Makassar meant we had the reef to ourselves—soft corals pulsing in the surge, turtles gliding past. The dive masters were attentive without being overbearing. Evenings were spent on deck, sipping Negronis as the sky turned indigo. The galley produced meals that felt both local and refined—grilled snapper with tamarind glaze, banana leaf-wrapped chicken. One small note: the hot water in our cabin fluctuated, but it was hardly disruptive. What stood out was the crew’s discretion. They knew when to appear, when to fade. A quiet highlight: drifting near Long Beach at sunset, the sand glowing pink. Ocean Angel doesn’t shout. It simply holds space.

Took the family—two teens and my sister’s kids—on what I hoped would be more than just another beach holiday. The Ocean Angel Liveaboard exceeded expectations. The layout made it easy for groups to spread out; the kids claimed the bow nets, while we commandeered the shaded lounge. A morning dive at Castle Rock revealed mantas in the current, and the guides were patient with the younger snorkelers. Lunch on Long Beach—grilled fish, coconut rice, mango salad—served under a thatched pavilion felt effortlessly luxurious. The air conditioning in our cabin worked flawlessly, which mattered after full days in the sun. One suggestion: an extra dive at Padar Island would’ve been welcome. The terrain there is unique, and we barely scratched the surface. Still, the crew’s attention to detail—cold towels post-dive, fresh coconut waiting—made the rhythm of each day seamless. This wasn’t just a trip; it was a masterclass in slow travel.

Joined a group of colleagues for a post-deal celebration—high expectations all around. The Ocean Angel Liveaboard didn’t disappoint. Arrived at Kalong Island just before sunset; the bats emerging in waves as the light faded was a moment of pure wonder. Next morning, a dive at Taka Makassar revealed a reef alive with movement—octopus, napoleon wrasse, a reef shark dozing in a crevice. The yacht’s common areas encouraged conversation without crowding. Our cabin was at the aft, quiet and well-ventilated. The galley served excellent coffee—essential for early starts—and the evening wines were well-chosen. One note: a longer stay at Padar Island would’ve allowed for a second hike or swim. But the itinerary was tight by design. What impressed was the crew’s cohesion—every movement felt choreographed, yet never stiff. Ocean Angel operates with a quiet confidence, the mark of true luxury.

Saya dan istri, both 58, but still love adventure. Ocean Angel Liveaboard cocok banget — elegant tapi gak terlalu young. Kapalnya baru (built 2021), jadi semua system smooth, no creaking. Kabinnya spacious, ensuite bathroom with good water pressure. Snorkeling di Sebayur Island, current-nya manageable, coral still healthy. Lihat manta dari dekat bikin kami speechless. Di Long Beach, kita duduk di hammock, baca buku, sambil dengar ombak. Crew sangat respectful, not intrusive. Makanan: banyak pilihan, termasuk vegetarian. Favorite: jackfruit rendang. Satu critique: lebih sering mau snorkeling, tapi kadang schedule agak tight. Tapi ngerti, they have to balance comfort and itinerary. Ocean Angel buat experience terasa refined, tanpa kehilangan soul of Komodo.
