We joined the Ocean Pro Phinisi for a milestone 40th birthday—just six of us, plus two close friends, diving from Komodo’s western arc. The yacht’s 2020 build is evident in its quiet systems and thoughtful layout; teak decks worn just enough to feel lived-in, not new. Our cabin, forward starboard, had cross-ventilation that made air-con optional—something I appreciated, given how hot it gets after Manta Point.
We spent a full morning at Gili Lawa Laut, snorkelling along the drop-off where the current brought in batfish and white-tip reef sharks. The crew anticipated our rhythm: water, shade, and a chilled towel when we surfaced. Later, Long Beach offered that rare thing—solitude on a postcard bay. We anchored early, had the sand to ourselves for two hours.
The galley served miso-glazed eggplant and tatare of yellowfin that rivalled London’s best. Only slight friction was the Wi-Fi—functional for messages, not video. Not a true flaw, more a reminder we were properly off-grid.
What stood out was the balance: structured enough for a dive group’s needs, fluid enough for spontaneous swims or a sundowner at Taka Makassar, where the sandbar shifts with the tide. I’d have stayed another two nights without hesitation. The Ocean Pro Phinisi doesn’t shout luxury; it simply lives it.
A Study in Composed Luxury
I’ve stayed in Aman resorts and Six Senses, but the Ocean Pro Phinisi offers something rarer: movement as luxury. Our group of four, marking a joint 60th birthday, wanted immersion without compromise. The yacht delivered—snorkeling at Batu Bolong revealed grey reefs alive with trevally, and the crew timed our Rinca landing to avoid tourist boats. The upper deck lounge, shaded by a retractable awning, became our reading sanctuary. Evenings were spent on the foredeck, where the staff laid out floor cushions and local snacks. The galley leaned into Indonesian flavours—papaya salad, grilled reef fish with kecap—but with European precision. My only note: the tender could be slightly larger for group transfers. That said, the 38-meter hull carved through chop with ease. At Pink Beach, we swam in the blush-tinged shallows, then returned to chilled towels and cucumber water. It wasn’t curated excess. It was thoughtful presence.
Luxury yang Tidak Berlebihan

Captain sangat aware dengan safety, always check weather update. Makanan? Fresh catch daily, dengan wine pairing yang well-curated. One thing: lebih banyak plant-based options bisa membantu. Tapi overall, the understated luxury is what makes it stand out. Not flashy, tapi everything works perfectly.

The Ocean Pro Phinisi doesn’t announce luxury—it simply embodies it. Our anniversary trip was anchored around Padar Island and Pink Beach, both staggering in their contrasts. The yacht’s teak decks held up impeccably under relentless sun, and our cabin, forward-facing, caught the morning light just right. What stood out wasn’t just the crew’s quiet competence—though the chef’s tamarind-glazed mahi was a revelation—but the pacing. We spent an entire dawn snorkeling at Batu Bolong, where the current brought in barracuda and manta shadows. I’d have welcomed a stronger satellite signal for brief work syncs; I’m aware that’s the point of disconnecting. Still, if one must unplug, doing so on a vessel this thoughtfully balanced—modern systems, traditional lines—is the only way. The sail between Rinca and Taka Makassar felt timeless, the twin masts cutting clean through the wind. There’s a difference between opulence and integrity. Ocean Pro Phinisi leans into the latter.

Chartering the Ocean Pro Phinisi for our executive retreat was a strategic choice—impress clients without seeming to try. We docked at Pink Beach and Rinca, using the former for team snorkel exercises, the latter for guided dragon tracking. The boat handled the Bali-Lombok strait swell with authority. Our only critique: one guest found the lower twin cabins slightly narrow for extended lounging. That said, sound insulation was excellent—critical when closing deals late. Dinners were discreetly orchestrated; the manager never interrupted meetings unless signaled. At Taka Makassar, the sandbar emerged at low tide like a mirage. We held a closing toast there, standing in knee-deep water, the yacht behind us like a silent sentinel. It was understated, powerful—much like the brand we were building.

हमने Ocean Pro Phinisi पर अपना babymoon बिताया, और ये experience बिलकुल भी generic नहीं था। 38 मीटर के इस लक्ज़री phinisi में 10 cabins हैं, लेकिन हमारे साथ केवल दो और couples थे—जिससे privacy बरकरार रही। हमारा itinerary Batu Bolong और Nusa Kode पर रुकावट के साथ बहुत सोच-समझकर बनाया गया था। Batu Bolong में snorkeling के दौरान मैंने एक manta ray को बहुत पास से देखा—वो moment कैद करने के लिए मेरे husband ने drone shot लिया, जो अब हमारी digital frame में है। Nusa Kode की चुपचाप खाड़ी में शाम को डिनर, बिना किसी और नाव के, एकदम perfect था। Crew ने हर ज़रूरत anticipate कर ली—मैं जब morning tea मांगती, तो वो already deck पर था। Master suite का layout भी स्मार्ट था—king bed के पास floor-to-ceiling windows, और private veranda पर sunrise देखकर meditation करना अलग ही अहसास दिलाता था। एक छोटी सी बात—wifi signal कभी-कभी drop हो जाता था, लेकिन honestly? इससे ज़्यादा connection मैंने अपने partner और अपने आप के साथ कभी नहीं महसूस किया। अगर एक और दिन होता, तो Taka Makassar भी घूम लेते।
