Our honeymoon on the Arfisyana Indah Phinisi was understated in the best way. No gilded fixtures, no overstaffed formality—just quiet competence and genuine warmth. The Master Suite had a writing desk with handmade paper and a pen that wrote smoothly, which I used more than expected. We began with a gentle snorkel off Sebayur Island, where the coral was thick with damselfish and the water so clear it felt like flying. The boat’s 2018 build means modern plumbing and reliable generators, yet it retains the soul of a traditional phinisi. One afternoon, we anchored at Bidadari Beach and spent hours reading under the shade of a palm. The staff brought iced lemongrass tea without being asked. Dinners were communal but never loud—conversation flowed over dishes like turmeric-roasted chicken and jackfruit salad. The crew remembered my partner’s preference for red wine and had a bottle ready on our final night. We visited Komodo Island and saw dragons near the ranger station—massive, slow, utterly unperturbed. The hike was manageable, and the guide was knowledgeable without being theatrical. My only critique? The lower deck lighting is a touch dim for evening reading. But that’s a minor trade-off for the ambiance. This vessel doesn’t shout luxury. It whispers it. And in doing so, it leaves a deeper mark.

Como viajante exigente, fujo de experiências genéricas. O Arfisyana Indah Phinisi me surpreendeu pela autenticidade. O design, embora vip class, respeita a estética tradicional do phinisi — sem dourados, sem espelhos. Em Pink Beach, o sunset foi cinematográfico, com a areia refletindo tons de coral. O staff, treinado em hospitality internacional, servia champanhe sem cerimônia, como se fosse natural. Em Long Beach, fizemos um almoço na praia com toalhas, frutas e um DJ discreto tocando bossa em vinil portátil — um detalhe que mostrou cuidado com a atmosfera. We booked the Arfisyana Indah Phinisi for our anniversary, drawn by its reputation for quiet elegance. What we found was a vessel that felt lived-in but never worn. The Master Suite’s ensuite bathroom, with its rain shower and teak bench, was a small luxury. Days unfolded between Bidadari Beach and Taka Makassar—snorkeling in glassy water, napping in hammocks strung on deck. The crew prepared a private lunch at Bidadari: grilled prawns, mango salad, a chilled rosé. One morning, we woke to find the boat anchored off an unnamed cove—the captain had spotted clear water and adjusted course. That spontaneity, within a framework of safety and care, defined the trip. The only note: the cabin lighting could be softer at night. But that’s minor. This wasn’t an experience. It was a state of being.

Tien jaar, tien sterren
Onze tiende trouwdag vierden we op de Arfisyana Indah Phinisi, en het was precies de juiste keuze. De anniversarystyling – bloemen, champagne bij zonsondergang op Long Beach – voelde niet opgelegd, maar oprecht. We hadden de master suite, en de badkuip op het private dek is iets wat je alleen hier vindt. De itinerary was goed doordacht: van de dramatische hellingen van Padar Island tot de rust van Gili Lawa Darat. De crew liet ons altijd genoeg ruimte, maar was er direct als we iets nodig hadden. Een kleine opmerking: de duikexcursie naar Manta Point had iets vroeger kunnen starten – de stroming was al wat sterker tegen lunchtijd. Maar de duik zelf? Pure magic. We zagen mantas, schildpadden, zelfs een kleine dugong. De chef kookte op onze laatste avond een custom menu, inclusief stroopwafels als dessert – een knipoog naar thuis. Diep ontroerd.
