Explore the magical islands you will visit aboard Dream Ocean Phinisi. Each stop offers a unique adventure from pink beaches to dragon encounters.
KELOR ISLAND
Ancient sailors called it "The Guardian." Dutch colonials built watchtowers on its crown. Local legend says it's a giant sea turtle turned to stone. A 20-minute climb rewards you with 360° views of dragon territories. The coral gardens below hide patrolling sea turtles in crystal shallows.
MANJERITE
Every sunset, tens of thousands of flying foxes launch from mangroves, creating a black river across orange skies. Ancient sea nomads believed these bats carried souls to the afterlife. Watch from your deck at 17:30. The sky will erupt. You'll forget to breathe.
PADAR ISLAND
Three crescent bays—turquoise, cobalt, jade—curve around dragon-spine ridges. Legend says a dragon princess died here protecting her brothers. Her body became the ridgeline. Her tears became three seas. The 30-minute climb is ruthless, but every explorer says: "I can die now."
PINK BEACH
One of only seven pink beaches on Earth. Microscopic red coral creates a rose-gold blush. Sailors once feared it was cursed by dragon blood. The reef drops from knee-deep to 50 meters—turtles, reef sharks, and octopi patrol waters so clear you'll think you're dreaming.
KOMODO ISLAND
Ground zero. The throne. Komodo dragons—largest lizards on Earth, unchanged for 4 million years. They sprint 20 km/h, kill with venom-laced bites. Trek with armed rangers. Watch them sun like kings. Feel evolution stare back. This isn't a zoo. It's their Kingdom
TAKA MAKASSAR
A sandbar that emerges at low tide, then disappears beneath waves. Sea nomads called it "Ghost Island"—a resting place for ocean spirits. Stand in the middle of the ocean with ankle-deep water. Snorkel where the island vanishes. Your private Maldives, but only for 2 hours.
MANTA POINT
A submerged pinnacle where currents collide, creating a cleaning station for manta rays with 7-meter wingspans. Divers call them "Royal Stingrays"—reincarnated ocean kings. The taboo: look, never touch. Watch them barrel-roll beneath you. Swimming with mantas IS your bucket list.
GILI LAWA
Twin islands—Lawa Darat and Lawa Laut—frame the golden highway between sky and sea. Ancient traders navigated by these peaks. At sunrise, watch the world ignite from savannah ridges. At sunset, the sky bleeds into three shades of fire. The 30-minute trek is steep, but the 360° view makes kings jealous.
SLABA ISLAND
Slaba rises like a fortress from deep blue—a volcanic dome crowned with savannah where white-bellied sea eagles hunt. Bajo fishermen call it "Pulau Rajawali" (Eagle Island), believing the birds are guardians of hidden treasures below. Dive the walls where currents deliver big fish, sharks, and swirling barracuda. Above: eagles. Below: an underwater avalanche of life.
SEBAYUR ISLAND
Sebayur guards one of Komodo's best-kept secrets: untouched coral gardens teeming with life. While others chase dragons, divers chase legends here—pygmy seahorses, ghost pipefishes, and macro critters hiding in soft coral forests. The bay is a natural aquarium. The hillside trek offers sunrise views without the Padar crowds.
KANAWA ISLAND
While crowds chase Pink Beach, explorers slip to Kanawa—pristine coral reefs, zero crowds. Fishermen once avoided it, believing the Sea Goddess protected these waters. The reef here is 80% live coral. Turtles nest on beaches. Blacktip sharks patrol shallows. This is the Komodo nobody talks about.
SABOLO ISLAND (RANGKO CAVE)
Hidden in Sabolo's limestone cliffs lies Rangko Cave—a saltwater cavern illuminated by a ceiling skylight. Sunbeams pierce the darkness, turning water neon blue. Local legend says bathing here grants courage to face dragons. Swim through the entrance tunnel. Surface inside the cathedral. Float in liquid sapphire while light dances on ancient rock.
BIDADARI ISLAND
Bidadari" means angel in Indonesian. One glance explains why. Powdery white sand. Turquoise shallows. Zero crowds. Fishermen say angels rest here between monsoons, leaving footprints in the sand that waves erase by dawn. Snorkel the fringing reef where baby blacktips patrol. This is your castaway fantasy—pristine, peaceful, perfect.

Our babymoon aboard the Dream Ocean Phinisi was exactly what we needed—quiet, nourishing, and deeply private. Sailing from Labuan Bajo, we spent a gentle afternoon at Wae Rebo, where the village elders welcomed us with herbal tea and stories. The climb was manageable, and the staff ensured we didn’t overexert. Back on board, the Master Suite’s wrap-around windows made waking to open sea a daily meditation. The crew adjusted meal times around my fatigue, serving light broths and tropical fruit platters without my having to ask. At Rinca Island, we opted for a shorter walk to see the dragons—sensible, given the heat. The yacht’s shaded upper deck became our sanctuary, where I read while my partner napped. The linen quality and mattress were exceptional—no creaking wood or engine hum. I’d have loved an extra night; four days felt like a fleeting dream. Still, the attention to rhythm and comfort surpassed any resort stay we’ve had.

As someone who travels frequently for work, I value subtlety over spectacle. The Dream Ocean Phinisi delivered just that — a quiet confidence in its operation. Our group of six, all friends from university, chose a mix of activity and stillness. Snorkeling at Bidadari Beach was sublime; the coral formations looked untouched. One morning, we hiked Komodo Island with a ranger who spoke softly but knew every track and tail pattern. Evenings were spent on the upper deck, drinking local palm wine as the sky turned indigo. The galley offered flexible dining — we could eat early with the crew or later, privately. The linen napkins, the handwritten daily itinerary cards — these weren’t flourishes, but part of a consistent tone. Only thought: the shower drain in our cabin backed up once. A small thing, quickly fixed, but worth noting.

As part of a six-person dive group, we required reliability and precision. The Dream Ocean Phinisi delivered. Our dives spanned Komodo’s strong currents and the calmer shallows of Nusa Kode. The dive team was experienced—pre-checked gear, briefed on local marine behaviour, and always within reach. We spotted pygmy seahorses at Wainilu, a rare find. The boat’s layout made pre-dive prep efficient: rinse tanks on deck, direct access from the stern. I appreciated the charging stations near the gear lockers. Cabins were clean and functional—my Standard Cabin had excellent ventilation and blackout curtains. Meals were hearty but balanced—ideal after cold dives. One evening, we anchored near Kanawa and watched turtles come ashore. The lack of light pollution made the Milky Way visible in sharp detail. Minor critique: the tender took a few extra minutes to deploy. But overall, the operation ran like clockwork. This wasn’t just a trip—it was a proper expedition.

The Dream Ocean Phinisi offered a level of quiet elegance that’s rare in expedition cruising. Sailing between Sebayur Island and Taka Makassar, we had stretches where it was just the wind, the wake, and the occasional pod of dolphins. Our cabin — the Master Suite — faced aft with a private deck space, perfect for early coffee watching the sun rise over the strait. As a honeymoon, it struck the right balance: intimate but never claustrophobic. The crew anticipated needs without hovering, and meals felt curated — think tataki skipjack with local citrus, served under canvas at Bidadari Beach. One note: the satellite Wi-Fi was spotty during our anchorage at Sebayur, though that may have been by design. We didn’t miss it after the first evening. What stood out was the attention to material detail — linens, cutlery, even the bath products had a cohesion that signaled quiet luxury. A quiet triumph.

Wish we had one more day — waktu terasa cepat sekali.

As someone who values quiet luxury, I approached the Dream Ocean Phinisi with hope, not expectation. It exceeded both. The yacht’s 2018 build is evident in its clean lines and intuitive layout—no awkward corners, no wasted space. I traveled solo, though never felt alone. The staff offered companionship when welcome, silence when preferred. Our route included Long Beach and Nusa Kode—both stunning, but Long Beach captured me. We landed in the late afternoon, walked the entire curve of sand, and watched the tide roll in as a single osprey circled above. Back on board, dinner was served under a net of fairy lights, the kind that don’t glare but glow. The Standard Cabin was compact but impeccably finished—linen sheets, a cedar-lined closet, and a reading lamp with three settings. The only minor issue? One night, the bilge pump cycled more frequently than necessary, audible below deck. But it didn’t recur. What stays is the feeling of being perfectly held—by the vessel, the crew, the sea.
