Tamu dari Jakarta (CGK) biasanya terbang ke Bali (DPS) selama 1,5-2 jam, lalu lanjut ke Labuan Bajo (LBJ). Penerbangan ke LBJ tersedia dari sejumlah kota termasuk DPS, UPG, dan SUB.
Warga Negara Indonesia (WNI) tidak memerlukan visa untuk perjalanan domestik. Cukup bawa KTP atau identitas resmi lainnya untuk proses boarding di Labuan Bajo.
Musim terbaik adalah April–Oktober. Namun, periode Lebaran dan Natal juga diminati, jadi disarankan pesan jauh-jauh hari karena kapal cepat penuh saat cuti bersama.

The Mata Komodo Boat offered exactly the kind of grounded elegance I needed for my 40th. We anchored at Nusa Kode midweek — just us, a few monitors, and that endless turquoise. My only note: the Wi-Fi held up for emails but not much more, which, in hindsight, was probably the point. 사실 이번 photography expedition은 조명과 프레임을 위해 계획한 건데, Mata Komodo Boat가 예상보다 훨씬 더 잘 맞아줬다. 특히 Gili Lawa에서 일출 촬영할 때, 크루가 미리 카누를 준비해줘서 조용히 포인트로 이동할 수 있었고, 그 덕분에 perfect한 조명을 잡을 수 있었다. 17미터라는 사이즈가 부담스럽지 않아서 그런지, 8명 정원 중 6명만 탑승한 덕분에 객실 간 프라이버시가 정말 well-maintained였고, master suite도 창문 배치가 빛을 자연스럽게 받아줘서 아침마다 natural light 샷을 건질 수 있었다. Padar Island에서의 드론 촬영도 기억에 남는데, 선장이 안전 거리를 정확히 알고 있어 신뢰감이 들었다. 단, 와이파이는 거의 사용 불가능했고, 이건 오히려 좋았지만… 그래도 마지막날 이메일 보내려다 포기했으니, digital detox라고 생각하는 게 낫겠다. 다음엔 1-2일 더 긴 itinerary로 오고 싶다. Batu Bolong 다이빙 포인트도 짧게 들렀는데, 해저 생물의 밀도가 놀라웠다.

Taking our two kids (8 and 11) to Komodo on the Mata Komodo Boat turned out to be one of our more intuitive parenting decisions. The crew were brilliant with them—patient, engaged, even teaching basic knot-tying. The boat’s size made it manageable; no endless corridors, just a warm, wooden interior and a spacious aft deck where we all gathered after excursions. We saw Komodo dragons on Rinca Island—up close, but safely guided—and the kids were equal parts terrified and fascinated. Later, a quick stop at Kanawa Island for shallow snorkeling was perfect for their stamina. The cabins were cozy, not palatial, but sufficient for our needs. One evening, the generator cut out briefly during dinner—nothing serious, just a reminder we’re in remote waters—but the staff handled it with grace, lighting candles and cracking jokes. Meals were consistently good: local curries, fresh mango lassis, grilled squid.
