Explore the magical islands you will visit aboard Staelan Boat. Each stop offers a unique adventure from pink beaches to dragon encounters.
KELOR ISLAND
Ancient sailors called it "The Guardian." Dutch colonials built watchtowers on its crown. Local legend says it's a giant sea turtle turned to stone. A 20-minute climb rewards you with 360° views of dragon territories. The coral gardens below hide patrolling sea turtles in crystal shallows.
MANJERITE
Every sunset, tens of thousands of flying foxes launch from mangroves, creating a black river across orange skies. Ancient sea nomads believed these bats carried souls to the afterlife. Watch from your deck at 17:30. The sky will erupt. You'll forget to breathe.
PADAR ISLAND
Three crescent bays—turquoise, cobalt, jade—curve around dragon-spine ridges. Legend says a dragon princess died here protecting her brothers. Her body became the ridgeline. Her tears became three seas. The 30-minute climb is ruthless, but every explorer says: "I can die now."
PINK BEACH
One of only seven pink beaches on Earth. Microscopic red coral creates a rose-gold blush. Sailors once feared it was cursed by dragon blood. The reef drops from knee-deep to 50 meters—turtles, reef sharks, and octopi patrol waters so clear you'll think you're dreaming.
KOMODO ISLAND
Ground zero. The throne. Komodo dragons—largest lizards on Earth, unchanged for 4 million years. They sprint 20 km/h, kill with venom-laced bites. Trek with armed rangers. Watch them sun like kings. Feel evolution stare back. This isn't a zoo. It's their Kingdom
TAKA MAKASSAR
A sandbar that emerges at low tide, then disappears beneath waves. Sea nomads called it "Ghost Island"—a resting place for ocean spirits. Stand in the middle of the ocean with ankle-deep water. Snorkel where the island vanishes. Your private Maldives, but only for 2 hours.
MANTA POINT
A submerged pinnacle where currents collide, creating a cleaning station for manta rays with 7-meter wingspans. Divers call them "Royal Stingrays"—reincarnated ocean kings. The taboo: look, never touch. Watch them barrel-roll beneath you. Swimming with mantas IS your bucket list.
GILI LAWA
Twin islands—Lawa Darat and Lawa Laut—frame the golden highway between sky and sea. Ancient traders navigated by these peaks. At sunrise, watch the world ignite from savannah ridges. At sunset, the sky bleeds into three shades of fire. The 30-minute trek is steep, but the 360° view makes kings jealous.
SLABA ISLAND
Slaba rises like a fortress from deep blue—a volcanic dome crowned with savannah where white-bellied sea eagles hunt. Bajo fishermen call it "Pulau Rajawali" (Eagle Island), believing the birds are guardians of hidden treasures below. Dive the walls where currents deliver big fish, sharks, and swirling barracuda. Above: eagles. Below: an underwater avalanche of life.
SEBAYUR ISLAND
Sebayur guards one of Komodo's best-kept secrets: untouched coral gardens teeming with life. While others chase dragons, divers chase legends here—pygmy seahorses, ghost pipefishes, and macro critters hiding in soft coral forests. The bay is a natural aquarium. The hillside trek offers sunrise views without the Padar crowds.
KANAWA ISLAND
While crowds chase Pink Beach, explorers slip to Kanawa—pristine coral reefs, zero crowds. Fishermen once avoided it, believing the Sea Goddess protected these waters. The reef here is 80% live coral. Turtles nest on beaches. Blacktip sharks patrol shallows. This is the Komodo nobody talks about.
SABOLO ISLAND (RANGKO CAVE)
Hidden in Sabolo's limestone cliffs lies Rangko Cave—a saltwater cavern illuminated by a ceiling skylight. Sunbeams pierce the darkness, turning water neon blue. Local legend says bathing here grants courage to face dragons. Swim through the entrance tunnel. Surface inside the cathedral. Float in liquid sapphire while light dances on ancient rock.
BIDADARI ISLAND
Bidadari" means angel in Indonesian. One glance explains why. Powdery white sand. Turquoise shallows. Zero crowds. Fishermen say angels rest here between monsoons, leaving footprints in the sand that waves erase by dawn. Snorkel the fringing reef where baby blacktips patrol. This is your castaway fantasy—pristine, peaceful, perfect.

Looking for a quiet escape before baby comes? Staelan Boat is your answer. As a babymoon trip, everything felt tailored for calm — gentle rocking, soft linens, and endless ocean views. We anchored near Rinca Island, where the silence was only broken by waves and birds. Morning tea delivered to our cabin? So thoughtful. Snorkeling at Gili Lawa was peaceful — I floated while husband explored the coral. Crew was discreet yet always available. Kabinnya intimate, dengan jendela besar buat sunrise view. Satu catatan: charging port di kamar agak terbatas. But overall, the ambiance was dreamy. Staelan Boat gave us space to connect and reflect. Truly unforgettable.

Breakfast selalu fresh — banana pancakes jadi favorit mereka. Satu improvement: mungkin bisa tambah life vest ukuran kecil. Tapi overall, this trip proved that luxury family travel di Indonesia is doable. Staelan Boat made us feel safe and pampered. A+ experience!

The Staelan Boat offered a quiet elegance that matched the stillness of the Flores Sea. We anchored at Manta Point early on day two, and within minutes, I was drifting alongside three mantas—cleaner wrasses picking at their gills, sunlight fracturing through the surface above. As part of a small dive group, the crew anticipated our needs without intrusion: tanks staged just so, towels warmed after the third dive. The cabin, though compact, felt intentional—teak joinery, soft linen, no wasted space. One evening, we dined on deck near Sebayur Island, the horizon still faintly pink, and I wished only for stronger Wi-Fi to send a photo to my sister. But perhaps that’s the point—being slightly untethered. The boat’s 2018 build shows in its reliability, not in flashy excess. It’s refined, not loud. We surfaced at Castle Rock the next morning, currents brisk but managed expertly by the captain. This wasn’t luxury as spectacle, but as precision—timed tides, well-kept gear, a chilled sauvignon blanc waiting post-dive.

For my milestone birthday, I wanted something lean and elemental—no fanfare, just sea and silence. The Staelan Boat delivered. We spent the afternoon at Rinca Island, tracking komodo dragons through the underbrush, then returned to find a single glass of cava waiting on the upper deck. No fuss, just recognition. The boat’s 22 meters felt generous with only four guests—ample room to retreat. One night, anchored off Sebayur, the crew lit lanterns along the rails; it looked like a floating village. The dining was restrained but exact: miso-glazed snapper, mango salad with lime zest. I’d have liked another day—perhaps extending to Castle Rock’s outer reefs—but that speaks more to the place than any shortfall. The woodwork, still holding its finish from the 2018 build, warmed under afternoon light. This wasn’t indulgence as excess, but as absence—of clutter, of noise, of pretense.
