Destination Highlights

Explore the magical islands you will visit aboard Aimar Phinisi. Each stop offers a unique adventure from pink beaches to dragon encounters.

EVERY TERRITORY TELLS — A LEGEND ◈EVERY TERRITORY TELLS — A LEGEND ◈EVERY TERRITORY TELLS — A LEGEND ◈EVERY TERRITORY TELLS — A LEGEND ◈EVERY TERRITORY TELLS — A LEGEND ◈EVERY TERRITORY TELLS — A LEGEND ◈
◈

KELOR ISLAND

Ancient sailors called it "The Guardian." Dutch colonials built watchtowers on its crown. Local legend says it's a giant sea turtle turned to stone. A 20-minute climb rewards you with 360° views of dragon territories. The coral gardens below hide patrolling sea turtles in crystal shallows.

◈

MANJERITE

Every sunset, tens of thousands of flying foxes launch from mangroves, creating a black river across orange skies. Ancient sea nomads believed these bats carried souls to the afterlife. Watch from your deck at 17:30. The sky will erupt. You'll forget to breathe.

◈

PADAR ISLAND

Three crescent bays—turquoise, cobalt, jade—curve around dragon-spine ridges. Legend says a dragon princess died here protecting her brothers. Her body became the ridgeline. Her tears became three seas. The 30-minute climb is ruthless, but every explorer says: "I can die now."

◈

PINK BEACH

One of only seven pink beaches on Earth. Microscopic red coral creates a rose-gold blush. Sailors once feared it was cursed by dragon blood. The reef drops from knee-deep to 50 meters—turtles, reef sharks, and octopi patrol waters so clear you'll think you're dreaming.

◈

KOMODO ISLAND

Ground zero. The throne. Komodo dragons—largest lizards on Earth, unchanged for 4 million years. They sprint 20 km/h, kill with venom-laced bites. Trek with armed rangers. Watch them sun like kings. Feel evolution stare back. This isn't a zoo. It's their Kingdom

◈

TAKA MAKASSAR

A sandbar that emerges at low tide, then disappears beneath waves. Sea nomads called it "Ghost Island"—a resting place for ocean spirits. Stand in the middle of the ocean with ankle-deep water. Snorkel where the island vanishes. Your private Maldives, but only for 2 hours.

◈

MANTA POINT

A submerged pinnacle where currents collide, creating a cleaning station for manta rays with 7-meter wingspans. Divers call them "Royal Stingrays"—reincarnated ocean kings. The taboo: look, never touch. Watch them barrel-roll beneath you. Swimming with mantas IS your bucket list.

◈

GILI LAWA

Twin islands—Lawa Darat and Lawa Laut—frame the golden highway between sky and sea. Ancient traders navigated by these peaks. At sunrise, watch the world ignite from savannah ridges. At sunset, the sky bleeds into three shades of fire. The 30-minute trek is steep, but the 360° view makes kings jealous.

◈

SLABA ISLAND

Slaba rises like a fortress from deep blue—a volcanic dome crowned with savannah where white-bellied sea eagles hunt. Bajo fishermen call it "Pulau Rajawali" (Eagle Island), believing the birds are guardians of hidden treasures below. Dive the walls where currents deliver big fish, sharks, and swirling barracuda. Above: eagles. Below: an underwater avalanche of life.

◈

SEBAYUR ISLAND

Sebayur guards one of Komodo's best-kept secrets: untouched coral gardens teeming with life. While others chase dragons, divers chase legends here—pygmy seahorses, ghost pipefishes, and macro critters hiding in soft coral forests. The bay is a natural aquarium. The hillside trek offers sunrise views without the Padar crowds.

◈

KANAWA ISLAND

While crowds chase Pink Beach, explorers slip to Kanawa—pristine coral reefs, zero crowds. Fishermen once avoided it, believing the Sea Goddess protected these waters. The reef here is 80% live coral. Turtles nest on beaches. Blacktip sharks patrol shallows. This is the Komodo nobody talks about.

◈

SABOLO ISLAND (RANGKO CAVE)

Hidden in Sabolo's limestone cliffs lies Rangko Cave—a saltwater cavern illuminated by a ceiling skylight. Sunbeams pierce the darkness, turning water neon blue. Local legend says bathing here grants courage to face dragons. Swim through the entrance tunnel. Surface inside the cathedral. Float in liquid sapphire while light dances on ancient rock.

◈

BIDADARI ISLAND

Bidadari" means angel in Indonesian. One glance explains why. Powdery white sand. Turquoise shallows. Zero crowds. Fishermen say angels rest here between monsoons, leaving footprints in the sand that waves erase by dawn. Snorkel the fringing reef where baby blacktips patrol. This is your castaway fantasy—pristine, peaceful, perfect.

Honeymoon di Komodo? Yes.

Choosing Aimar Phinisi for our honeymoon was a dream. We loved how the itinerary included secluded spots like Manjarite, where we had the whole beach to ourselves. The crew arranged a private dinner on the sand — candlelit, violin music, and lobster menu. Romantic level: maxed out. Our cabin, the Master Suite, had floor-to-ceiling windows dan AC that actually works quietly. We did a short hike at Loh Liang, and although it was hot, the ranger was super informative tentang Komodo behavior. One small note: the shower drain got clogged once, tapi housekeeping fixed it within 20 minutes. What I appreciated most was the attention to detail — from monogrammed towels sampai personalized welcome drinks. Snorkeling at Bidadari Beach revealed so many clownfish dan blue starfish. We didn’t want to leave. Might come back for our first anniversary — maybe extend to 8 days next time.

Kami lihat baby shark berenang perlahan. Malam terakhir, crew prepare surprise: traditional song performance dengan sape. Itu moment yang bikin kami emotional.

Refined Komodo Exploration

Chartering the Aimar Phinisi for our corporate retreat was a deliberate choice—away from boardrooms, into clarity. Seven executives, all accustomed to five-star stays, were quietly impressed. The common saloon, with its low-slung sofas and curated coffee table books on Indonesian marine biology, became our informal war room by day, then cocktail lounge by night. We docked near Kalong Island to witness the bat exodus at dusk—a surreal, almost cinematic moment. The next morning, a guided hike on Padar offered panoramic views that sparked unexpected strategy discussions. Meals were served family-style: crisp salads, grilled tuna, local sambals. The Wi-Fi was sufficient for brief check-ins, though deliberately limited—likely by design. One colleague noted the showers could have stronger pressure, but that’s nitpicking. We returned not just rested, but realigned.

Crew sangat aware akan kebutuhan recovery — quiet cabin, no early wake-up calls, meals delivered quietly. Makanan mostly steamed dan plant-based, with turmeric and ginger infusions. Standard Cabin cukup nyaman, tapi shower head-nya agak lemah. Tapi aku appreciate that they have non-scented toiletries, good for sensitive skin. This journey was medicine.

Elegance in the Wild: Aimar Phinisi Delivers

Sailing the Komodo archipelago aboard the Aimar Phinisi was the perfect counterpoint to our urban lives—wild, refined, and deeply immersive. We anchored at Batu Bolong at sunrise, the coral gardens just beneath the surface teeming with reef sharks and parrotfish. Snorkeling there felt like entering a private marine sanctuary. The Master Suite was impeccably finished—teak floors, soft linen, and a bath with ocean views. The crew anticipated needs without intrusion, which we appreciated during our anniversary trip. Dinner one evening was set up on Padar Island’s lesser slope, a private beach setup with lanterns and local lobster. My only note: the satellite connection was inconsistent, though honestly, that may have been the point. The balance of comfort and adventure was precise—this isn’t a floating hotel, but a vessel for discovery. The 27-meter hull handled evening swells with ease, and waking to Rinca Island’s silhouette at dawn was quietly majestic.
