Explore the magical islands you will visit aboard Kaia Explorer. Each stop offers a unique adventure from pink beaches to dragon encounters.
KELOR ISLAND
Ancient sailors called it "The Guardian." Dutch colonials built watchtowers on its crown. Local legend says it's a giant sea turtle turned to stone. A 20-minute climb rewards you with 360° views of dragon territories. The coral gardens below hide patrolling sea turtles in crystal shallows.
MANJERITE
Every sunset, tens of thousands of flying foxes launch from mangroves, creating a black river across orange skies. Ancient sea nomads believed these bats carried souls to the afterlife. Watch from your deck at 17:30. The sky will erupt. You'll forget to breathe.
PADAR ISLAND
Three crescent bays—turquoise, cobalt, jade—curve around dragon-spine ridges. Legend says a dragon princess died here protecting her brothers. Her body became the ridgeline. Her tears became three seas. The 30-minute climb is ruthless, but every explorer says: "I can die now."
PINK BEACH
One of only seven pink beaches on Earth. Microscopic red coral creates a rose-gold blush. Sailors once feared it was cursed by dragon blood. The reef drops from knee-deep to 50 meters—turtles, reef sharks, and octopi patrol waters so clear you'll think you're dreaming.
KOMODO ISLAND
Ground zero. The throne. Komodo dragons—largest lizards on Earth, unchanged for 4 million years. They sprint 20 km/h, kill with venom-laced bites. Trek with armed rangers. Watch them sun like kings. Feel evolution stare back. This isn't a zoo. It's their Kingdom
TAKA MAKASSAR
A sandbar that emerges at low tide, then disappears beneath waves. Sea nomads called it "Ghost Island"—a resting place for ocean spirits. Stand in the middle of the ocean with ankle-deep water. Snorkel where the island vanishes. Your private Maldives, but only for 2 hours.
MANTA POINT
A submerged pinnacle where currents collide, creating a cleaning station for manta rays with 7-meter wingspans. Divers call them "Royal Stingrays"—reincarnated ocean kings. The taboo: look, never touch. Watch them barrel-roll beneath you. Swimming with mantas IS your bucket list.
GILI LAWA
Twin islands—Lawa Darat and Lawa Laut—frame the golden highway between sky and sea. Ancient traders navigated by these peaks. At sunrise, watch the world ignite from savannah ridges. At sunset, the sky bleeds into three shades of fire. The 30-minute trek is steep, but the 360° view makes kings jealous.
SLABA ISLAND
Slaba rises like a fortress from deep blue—a volcanic dome crowned with savannah where white-bellied sea eagles hunt. Bajo fishermen call it "Pulau Rajawali" (Eagle Island), believing the birds are guardians of hidden treasures below. Dive the walls where currents deliver big fish, sharks, and swirling barracuda. Above: eagles. Below: an underwater avalanche of life.
SEBAYUR ISLAND
Sebayur guards one of Komodo's best-kept secrets: untouched coral gardens teeming with life. While others chase dragons, divers chase legends here—pygmy seahorses, ghost pipefishes, and macro critters hiding in soft coral forests. The bay is a natural aquarium. The hillside trek offers sunrise views without the Padar crowds.
KANAWA ISLAND
While crowds chase Pink Beach, explorers slip to Kanawa—pristine coral reefs, zero crowds. Fishermen once avoided it, believing the Sea Goddess protected these waters. The reef here is 80% live coral. Turtles nest on beaches. Blacktip sharks patrol shallows. This is the Komodo nobody talks about.
SABOLO ISLAND (RANGKO CAVE)
Hidden in Sabolo's limestone cliffs lies Rangko Cave—a saltwater cavern illuminated by a ceiling skylight. Sunbeams pierce the darkness, turning water neon blue. Local legend says bathing here grants courage to face dragons. Swim through the entrance tunnel. Surface inside the cathedral. Float in liquid sapphire while light dances on ancient rock.
BIDADARI ISLAND
Bidadari" means angel in Indonesian. One glance explains why. Powdery white sand. Turquoise shallows. Zero crowds. Fishermen say angels rest here between monsoons, leaving footprints in the sand that waves erase by dawn. Snorkel the fringing reef where baby blacktips patrol. This is your castaway fantasy—pristine, peaceful, perfect.

We joined the Kaia Explorer for a 4-day dive-focused charter, and I’m still recalibrating after those depths. The layout is uncluttered—two cabins, but designed with enough space that 12 of us never felt crowded. What stood out was the precision at Manta Point: the crew anticipated currents, positioned the boat flawlessly. We spent nearly an hour drifting with mantas in that electric blue, and Kaia’s dive team managed air and safety with quiet confidence. Pink Beach the next day offered contrast—soft coral hues, warm shallows. The boat’s 2020 build shows in the joinery and ventilation; no creaks, no damp. Minor note: Wi-Fi is essentially non-existent, but honestly, that became part of the appeal. After days of immersion, connectivity felt irrelevant. The galley served balanced meals—think tamarind-glazed snapper, jackfruit salad—nothing overly elaborate, but consistently fresh. As a dive group, we’ve been on larger yachts, but Kaia’s intimacy made for better camaraderie. Would have welcomed a fifth day.

Took our three kids—ages 8 to 14—on the Kaia Explorer, skeptical about space. But the layout surprised us; the second cabin turned into a cozy den for the younger two, and the upper deck became their reading nook by day. Snorkeled at Manta Point with all of them, and the crew had safety lines ready, even adjusted swim times for the youngest. They loved Pink Beach—collecting rose-tinged sand like treasure. What impressed me most was how the staff balanced professionalism with warmth; no forced cheer, just steady competence. Dinners were simple but refined—grilled reef fish, mango salad, local coffee that didn’t taste like afterthought. Only wish? One more night. Four days felt like a proper reset, but just as we found our sea legs, it was over. The boat’s 2020 build shows: everything functions, nothing squeaks. For a family wanting adventure without sacrificing comfort, Kaia Explorer delivers quietly, confidently.

My 35th birthday deserved something special—Kaia Explorer delivered beyond dreams. Started the day with snorkeling at Taka Makassar, where the water was so clear I saw my own reflection floating above coral gardens. Crew surprised me with a birthday cake and 'Selamat Ulang Tahun' sung in harmony—so sweet! Then, a sunset cruise near Rinca Island, where we spotted Komodo dragons from the boat. The ambiance on deck was so chill, with acoustic guitar and cold Aperol spritz. Cabin was compact but luxurious—good storage, nice toiletries, and AC that actually works. Only thing: the stairs between decks are a bit steep, hati-hati kalau bawa koper besar. But hey, that’s minor. Every detail felt curated. Dinner was a 4-course seafood feast—grilled squid, lobster risotto, the works. This trip reminded me how beautiful Indonesia is. Proud and grateful.

Ultimate birthday getaway with Kaia Explorer—pemandangannya literally out of this world! Manta Point itu luar biasa; I felt like I was swimming in a documentary. The mantas were so graceful, and snorkeling there was surreal. Gili Lawa sunset? Absolutely magical, the sky turned pink-orange seperti lukisan. Crew-nya super attentive, always with a smile and cold towel after diving. My 40th birthday feels truly celebrated. Kabinnya cozy tapi elegant, dan kasurnya super nyaman. Hanya satu kecil note: AC agak slow start, tapi overall tidak mengganggu experience. Makanannya? Five-star level, every meal felt curated. Dari nasi goreng with prawns sampai grilled fish with lemon herb, all perfection. Highly recommend Kaia Explorer for milestone trips—worth every rupiah. Sudah mulai planning next year’s friends’ getaway on the same boat!

We took Kaia Explorer for a post-wedding pause—four days between ceremonies and city life. The transition was seamless. From the moment we stepped aboard in Labuan Bajo, the pace shifted. Gili Lawa became our first sanctuary: glassy water, coral bommies teeming with anthias. The crew provided snorkel gear that actually fit—small detail, often overlooked. Pink Beach the next day was unexpectedly moving—the mineral tint, the silence between waves. We spent hours reading under a beach umbrella they’d brought ashore. The boat itself feels like a working vessel made comfortable: ropes coiled just so, woodwork oiled, no plastic in sight. The galley served delicate flavors—lemongrass broths, grilled papaya—nothing heavy. My only note: a dedicated cool box on deck would reduce trips below. But that’s nitpicking. This wasn’t about luxury as spectacle. It was about care, in motion. Kaia holds space beautifully.
