Explore the magical islands you will visit aboard Madyan Cruise. Each stop offers a unique adventure from pink beaches to dragon encounters.
KELOR ISLAND
Ancient sailors called it "The Guardian." Dutch colonials built watchtowers on its crown. Local legend says it's a giant sea turtle turned to stone. A 20-minute climb rewards you with 360° views of dragon territories. The coral gardens below hide patrolling sea turtles in crystal shallows.
MANJERITE
Every sunset, tens of thousands of flying foxes launch from mangroves, creating a black river across orange skies. Ancient sea nomads believed these bats carried souls to the afterlife. Watch from your deck at 17:30. The sky will erupt. You'll forget to breathe.
PADAR ISLAND
Three crescent bays—turquoise, cobalt, jade—curve around dragon-spine ridges. Legend says a dragon princess died here protecting her brothers. Her body became the ridgeline. Her tears became three seas. The 30-minute climb is ruthless, but every explorer says: "I can die now."
PINK BEACH
One of only seven pink beaches on Earth. Microscopic red coral creates a rose-gold blush. Sailors once feared it was cursed by dragon blood. The reef drops from knee-deep to 50 meters—turtles, reef sharks, and octopi patrol waters so clear you'll think you're dreaming.
KOMODO ISLAND
Ground zero. The throne. Komodo dragons—largest lizards on Earth, unchanged for 4 million years. They sprint 20 km/h, kill with venom-laced bites. Trek with armed rangers. Watch them sun like kings. Feel evolution stare back. This isn't a zoo. It's their Kingdom
TAKA MAKASSAR
A sandbar that emerges at low tide, then disappears beneath waves. Sea nomads called it "Ghost Island"—a resting place for ocean spirits. Stand in the middle of the ocean with ankle-deep water. Snorkel where the island vanishes. Your private Maldives, but only for 2 hours.
MANTA POINT
A submerged pinnacle where currents collide, creating a cleaning station for manta rays with 7-meter wingspans. Divers call them "Royal Stingrays"—reincarnated ocean kings. The taboo: look, never touch. Watch them barrel-roll beneath you. Swimming with mantas IS your bucket list.
GILI LAWA
Twin islands—Lawa Darat and Lawa Laut—frame the golden highway between sky and sea. Ancient traders navigated by these peaks. At sunrise, watch the world ignite from savannah ridges. At sunset, the sky bleeds into three shades of fire. The 30-minute trek is steep, but the 360° view makes kings jealous.
SLABA ISLAND
Slaba rises like a fortress from deep blue—a volcanic dome crowned with savannah where white-bellied sea eagles hunt. Bajo fishermen call it "Pulau Rajawali" (Eagle Island), believing the birds are guardians of hidden treasures below. Dive the walls where currents deliver big fish, sharks, and swirling barracuda. Above: eagles. Below: an underwater avalanche of life.
SEBAYUR ISLAND
Sebayur guards one of Komodo's best-kept secrets: untouched coral gardens teeming with life. While others chase dragons, divers chase legends here—pygmy seahorses, ghost pipefishes, and macro critters hiding in soft coral forests. The bay is a natural aquarium. The hillside trek offers sunrise views without the Padar crowds.
KANAWA ISLAND
While crowds chase Pink Beach, explorers slip to Kanawa—pristine coral reefs, zero crowds. Fishermen once avoided it, believing the Sea Goddess protected these waters. The reef here is 80% live coral. Turtles nest on beaches. Blacktip sharks patrol shallows. This is the Komodo nobody talks about.
SABOLO ISLAND (RANGKO CAVE)
Hidden in Sabolo's limestone cliffs lies Rangko Cave—a saltwater cavern illuminated by a ceiling skylight. Sunbeams pierce the darkness, turning water neon blue. Local legend says bathing here grants courage to face dragons. Swim through the entrance tunnel. Surface inside the cathedral. Float in liquid sapphire while light dances on ancient rock.
BIDADARI ISLAND
Bidadari" means angel in Indonesian. One glance explains why. Powdery white sand. Turquoise shallows. Zero crowds. Fishermen say angels rest here between monsoons, leaving footprints in the sand that waves erase by dawn. Snorkel the fringing reef where baby blacktips patrol. This is your castaway fantasy—pristine, peaceful, perfect.

Satu-satunya minor note: kamar mandi agak sempit untuk ukuran standar luxury, tapi overall masih very acceptable. Sunset di Padar Island? Breathtaking sekali, the photos didn’t do it justice.

Traveling with two children—ages 8 and 11—requires a vessel with both space and soul. Madyan Cruise surprised us with how well it accommodated our pace. The twin cabin was snug but cleverly designed, with pull-out storage for kids’ gear. Our days unfolded gently: morning swim at Manjarite, where the sandbar emerged like a secret path, then a shaded picnic. The crew welcomed the boys into the galley, teaching them to roll traditional snacks while we sailed toward Long Beach. There, we spent hours building driftwood shelters and spotting monitor lizards along the tree line. The boat’s 22.5-metre frame handled swells smoothly, and the open bow became our nightly stargazing perch. My only note: internet was nearly absent—fine for us, but teens missed their music playlists. Still, the rhythm of life here—waking to sea light, eating mangoes on deck—was the reset we hadn’t known we needed.

As someone who’s sailed Southeast Asia for years, I appreciate when a boat doesn’t try too hard. Madyan Cruise is understated—five cabins, no frills, but everything functions with quiet confidence. We sailed during shoulder season, so the parks were uncrowded. One morning, we had Long Beach entirely to ourselves, walking the shoreline as monitor lizards scattered into the underbrush. The crew prepared a beachside barbecue—grilled fish, lime, and grilled pineapple—while we swam in the glassy bay. Later, a dusk snorkel at Manjarite revealed glowing plankton, a surprise even for seasoned divers. The boat’s phinisi lines are traditional, and the 22.5-metre length allows for stability without sacrificing intimacy. I’d have liked a broader wine selection, but the local beer was cold and the coffee excellent. This is travel stripped to its essentials: water, wind, and space to breathe.

My 35th was supposed to be big, tapi I ended up choosing intimacy over spectacle. Madyan Cruise delivered that—quiet luxury, thoughtful service. Celebrated with just my sister and two close friends. We had a private BBQ di pulau kecil dekat Kalong Island, with only the sound of bats in the distance. The chef prepared a surprise menu with Komodo lobster—so fresh. Snorkeling at Castle Rock was exhilarating; the current was strong, tapi the guide stayed close. Madyan Cruise’s layout made it easy to find alone time, tapi juga gather when we wanted. Kabinnya cozy, with good storage—practical untuk perjalanan panjang. One small thing: AC di kabin saya kadang berhenti sendiri, tapi technical team fixed it fast. Overall, the trip felt curated, not generic. Turning 35 here was grounding—surrounded by ancient rocks and endless blue.

Turning 40 on Madyan Cruise was honestly the best decision—zero regrets. Saya dan istri memilih itinerary 4 hari karena ingin celebrate with minimal fuss tapi meaningful. We stayed at Batu Bolong for sunset, and the view was surreal, like dari lukisan. The crew anticipated needs without being intrusive, which I appreciate at this level. Madyan Cruise’s cabin layout is smart—our suite had excellent airflow, no AC needed. Satu catatan kecil: WiFi hanya stabil di dekat sundeck, tapi honestly, we weren’t chasing signal. More time at Kalong Island would’ve been nice—kami pengin lihat lebih dekat the bats taking off at dusk. The chef juga remembered I’m allergic to shrimp, which showed attention to detail. Overall, this trip felt like a reset button for midlife. Not flashy, tapi deeply restorative.

We chartered Madyan Cruise to celebrate my father’s 70th, and it was nothing short of magical. The crew learned our names within hours and remembered dietary preferences without prompting. At Kalong Island, we watched thousands of flying foxes erupt from the mangroves at dusk—a moment of pure awe. The onboard chef crafted a Balinese-themed banquet with banana-leaf-wrapped fish and jackfruit satay. Our cabins were cozy, though taller guests might find the berths slightly short. Still, the linen quality and quiet ventilation made for deep, restful sleep. Madyan Cruise’s route included both iconic and secluded stops, giving us a layered view of the park. It’s not the largest phinisi, but its intimacy became the trip’s greatest strength.
