Explore the magical islands you will visit aboard Mata Komodo Boat. Each stop offers a unique adventure from pink beaches to dragon encounters.
KELOR ISLAND
Ancient sailors called it "The Guardian." Dutch colonials built watchtowers on its crown. Local legend says it's a giant sea turtle turned to stone. A 20-minute climb rewards you with 360° views of dragon territories. The coral gardens below hide patrolling sea turtles in crystal shallows.
MANJERITE
Every sunset, tens of thousands of flying foxes launch from mangroves, creating a black river across orange skies. Ancient sea nomads believed these bats carried souls to the afterlife. Watch from your deck at 17:30. The sky will erupt. You'll forget to breathe.
PADAR ISLAND
Three crescent bays—turquoise, cobalt, jade—curve around dragon-spine ridges. Legend says a dragon princess died here protecting her brothers. Her body became the ridgeline. Her tears became three seas. The 30-minute climb is ruthless, but every explorer says: "I can die now."
PINK BEACH
One of only seven pink beaches on Earth. Microscopic red coral creates a rose-gold blush. Sailors once feared it was cursed by dragon blood. The reef drops from knee-deep to 50 meters—turtles, reef sharks, and octopi patrol waters so clear you'll think you're dreaming.
KOMODO ISLAND
Ground zero. The throne. Komodo dragons—largest lizards on Earth, unchanged for 4 million years. They sprint 20 km/h, kill with venom-laced bites. Trek with armed rangers. Watch them sun like kings. Feel evolution stare back. This isn't a zoo. It's their Kingdom
TAKA MAKASSAR
A sandbar that emerges at low tide, then disappears beneath waves. Sea nomads called it "Ghost Island"—a resting place for ocean spirits. Stand in the middle of the ocean with ankle-deep water. Snorkel where the island vanishes. Your private Maldives, but only for 2 hours.
MANTA POINT
A submerged pinnacle where currents collide, creating a cleaning station for manta rays with 7-meter wingspans. Divers call them "Royal Stingrays"—reincarnated ocean kings. The taboo: look, never touch. Watch them barrel-roll beneath you. Swimming with mantas IS your bucket list.
GILI LAWA
Twin islands—Lawa Darat and Lawa Laut—frame the golden highway between sky and sea. Ancient traders navigated by these peaks. At sunrise, watch the world ignite from savannah ridges. At sunset, the sky bleeds into three shades of fire. The 30-minute trek is steep, but the 360° view makes kings jealous.
SLABA ISLAND
Slaba rises like a fortress from deep blue—a volcanic dome crowned with savannah where white-bellied sea eagles hunt. Bajo fishermen call it "Pulau Rajawali" (Eagle Island), believing the birds are guardians of hidden treasures below. Dive the walls where currents deliver big fish, sharks, and swirling barracuda. Above: eagles. Below: an underwater avalanche of life.
SEBAYUR ISLAND
Sebayur guards one of Komodo's best-kept secrets: untouched coral gardens teeming with life. While others chase dragons, divers chase legends here—pygmy seahorses, ghost pipefishes, and macro critters hiding in soft coral forests. The bay is a natural aquarium. The hillside trek offers sunrise views without the Padar crowds.
KANAWA ISLAND
While crowds chase Pink Beach, explorers slip to Kanawa—pristine coral reefs, zero crowds. Fishermen once avoided it, believing the Sea Goddess protected these waters. The reef here is 80% live coral. Turtles nest on beaches. Blacktip sharks patrol shallows. This is the Komodo nobody talks about.
SABOLO ISLAND (RANGKO CAVE)
Hidden in Sabolo's limestone cliffs lies Rangko Cave—a saltwater cavern illuminated by a ceiling skylight. Sunbeams pierce the darkness, turning water neon blue. Local legend says bathing here grants courage to face dragons. Swim through the entrance tunnel. Surface inside the cathedral. Float in liquid sapphire while light dances on ancient rock.
BIDADARI ISLAND
Bidadari" means angel in Indonesian. One glance explains why. Powdery white sand. Turquoise shallows. Zero crowds. Fishermen say angels rest here between monsoons, leaving footprints in the sand that waves erase by dawn. Snorkel the fringing reef where baby blacktips patrol. This is your castaway fantasy—pristine, peaceful, perfect.

Tidak perlu banyak kata—just you, your partner, and the sea.

As someone managing chronic stress, I sought a retreat that balanced nature and nurturing—and Mata Komodo Boat offered exactly that. Anchored near Kalong Island, the nightly symphony of bats taking flight became a meditation in motion. Our wellness group practiced breathwork on the bow each morning, followed by nutrient-dense breakfasts of jackfruit hash and turmeric lattes. The boat’s design prioritizes flow: open spaces, natural materials, and minimal visual clutter. A snorkel at Kanawa revealed coral gardens teeming with parrotfish and clowns, a vivid contrast to the grey of city life. The only minor drawback was the mattress firmness—perhaps too rigid for longer back sleepers. But the crew adjusted bedding upon request without hesitation. This wasn’t escapism; it was recalibration. For those seeking depth over dazzle, Mata Komodo Boat is a sanctuary afloat.

We did team trekking di Rinca Island—melihat Komodo dragon dari dekat bikin semua orang speechless. Sangat memorable. Tapi overall, the simplicity of the boat forces real connection. The ocean becomes the real team builder.

We chose the Mata Komodo Boat for our anniversary, drawn by its classic phinisi lines and no-nonsense elegance. The 2017 build shows in the clean finishes—teak decks well-maintained, hardware functional without being flashy. Four cabins mean privacy, and at eight guests max, the experience never felt crowded. Our days unfolded with a quiet rhythm: sunrise coffee as we anchored near Padar Island, then a guided hike for that iconic view—fewer people than usual at this hour. Later, a slow drift snorkel at Manta Point, where five mantas glided beneath us like silent kites. The galley delivered consistently—lemongrass-infused sea bass, coconut rice—and the stewardess remembered we preferred still water. Only slight critique: the cabin ventilation could be stronger on windless nights, though the fan compensated. What impressed most was the balance—adventure when we wanted it, stillness when we didn’t. We returned to the boat each evening feeling full, not exhausted. There’s a dignity to this vessel that matches the landscape.

Sebagai part of my wellness retreat after a burnout phase, Mata Komodo Boat offered exactly what I needed—rhythm dari ombak dan zero digital pressure.

Our group of 5 divers chose Mata Komodo Boat karena harga terjangkau tapi reputasi bagus. And it delivered! We dived at Komodo Island dan Rinca—currents strong but manageable, dan biodiversity? Insane! Nemo, barracuda, tuna, even a manta at Rinca’s cleaning station! The boat has a dedicated dive platform dan oxygen tank refill on board. Crew sangat supportive—helped us prep gear every time. Kabin simple but functional, dan makanan cukup beragam: nasi goreng, grilled fish, fresh fruit. For dive-focused travelers, this boat offers great value. We’re already planning our next trip with them—maybe to Padar next time!
