Explore the magical islands you will visit aboard La Sukha Speed Boat. Each stop offers a unique adventure from pink beaches to dragon encounters.
KELOR ISLAND
Ancient sailors called it "The Guardian." Dutch colonials built watchtowers on its crown. Local legend says it's a giant sea turtle turned to stone. A 20-minute climb rewards you with 360° views of dragon territories. The coral gardens below hide patrolling sea turtles in crystal shallows.
MANJERITE
Every sunset, tens of thousands of flying foxes launch from mangroves, creating a black river across orange skies. Ancient sea nomads believed these bats carried souls to the afterlife. Watch from your deck at 17:30. The sky will erupt. You'll forget to breathe.
PADAR ISLAND
Three crescent bays—turquoise, cobalt, jade—curve around dragon-spine ridges. Legend says a dragon princess died here protecting her brothers. Her body became the ridgeline. Her tears became three seas. The 30-minute climb is ruthless, but every explorer says: "I can die now."
PINK BEACH
One of only seven pink beaches on Earth. Microscopic red coral creates a rose-gold blush. Sailors once feared it was cursed by dragon blood. The reef drops from knee-deep to 50 meters—turtles, reef sharks, and octopi patrol waters so clear you'll think you're dreaming.
KOMODO ISLAND
Ground zero. The throne. Komodo dragons—largest lizards on Earth, unchanged for 4 million years. They sprint 20 km/h, kill with venom-laced bites. Trek with armed rangers. Watch them sun like kings. Feel evolution stare back. This isn't a zoo. It's their Kingdom
TAKA MAKASSAR
A sandbar that emerges at low tide, then disappears beneath waves. Sea nomads called it "Ghost Island"—a resting place for ocean spirits. Stand in the middle of the ocean with ankle-deep water. Snorkel where the island vanishes. Your private Maldives, but only for 2 hours.
MANTA POINT
A submerged pinnacle where currents collide, creating a cleaning station for manta rays with 7-meter wingspans. Divers call them "Royal Stingrays"—reincarnated ocean kings. The taboo: look, never touch. Watch them barrel-roll beneath you. Swimming with mantas IS your bucket list.
GILI LAWA
Twin islands—Lawa Darat and Lawa Laut—frame the golden highway between sky and sea. Ancient traders navigated by these peaks. At sunrise, watch the world ignite from savannah ridges. At sunset, the sky bleeds into three shades of fire. The 30-minute trek is steep, but the 360° view makes kings jealous.
SLABA ISLAND
Slaba rises like a fortress from deep blue—a volcanic dome crowned with savannah where white-bellied sea eagles hunt. Bajo fishermen call it "Pulau Rajawali" (Eagle Island), believing the birds are guardians of hidden treasures below. Dive the walls where currents deliver big fish, sharks, and swirling barracuda. Above: eagles. Below: an underwater avalanche of life.
SEBAYUR ISLAND
Sebayur guards one of Komodo's best-kept secrets: untouched coral gardens teeming with life. While others chase dragons, divers chase legends here—pygmy seahorses, ghost pipefishes, and macro critters hiding in soft coral forests. The bay is a natural aquarium. The hillside trek offers sunrise views without the Padar crowds.
KANAWA ISLAND
While crowds chase Pink Beach, explorers slip to Kanawa—pristine coral reefs, zero crowds. Fishermen once avoided it, believing the Sea Goddess protected these waters. The reef here is 80% live coral. Turtles nest on beaches. Blacktip sharks patrol shallows. This is the Komodo nobody talks about.
SABOLO ISLAND (RANGKO CAVE)
Hidden in Sabolo's limestone cliffs lies Rangko Cave—a saltwater cavern illuminated by a ceiling skylight. Sunbeams pierce the darkness, turning water neon blue. Local legend says bathing here grants courage to face dragons. Swim through the entrance tunnel. Surface inside the cathedral. Float in liquid sapphire while light dances on ancient rock.
BIDADARI ISLAND
Bidadari" means angel in Indonesian. One glance explains why. Powdery white sand. Turquoise shallows. Zero crowds. Fishermen say angels rest here between monsoons, leaving footprints in the sand that waves erase by dawn. Snorkel the fringing reef where baby blacktips patrol. This is your castaway fantasy—pristine, peaceful, perfect.

Photography expedition ke Komodo with La Sukha Speed Boat exceeded my expectations. Being on a 12-meter phinisi meant we could anchor close to dramatic coastlines—especially at Gili Lawa, where the sunrise creates this golden gradient across the water. I shot from deck level and from a small dinghy at dawn—the light was cinematic. The crew understood our rhythm, never disturbed a shoot, and even adjusted wake-up calls based on golden hour. One morning, they pre-packed our breakfast dalam insulated boxes so we could shoot at Bidadari Beach tanpa rush. Small details like that matter. The only thing? More power outlets near the lounge area would help for charging multiple batteries. But again, minor. At night, we reviewed shots under dimmed lights with local coffee—felt very organic. This isn’t a flashy yacht, tapi authenticity-nya justru bikin creative flow lebih natural. Perfect for visual storytellers.

Turning fifty on the La Sukha Speed Boat was low-key by design—no balloons, no speeches—just the right kind of quiet celebration. We spent the birthday morning at Taka Makassar, snorkeling over coral gardens so vivid they looked painted. The boat’s compactness worked in our favor; conversations flowed easily between guests. At dinner, the crew presented a small coconut cake with a single candle—unprompted, understated, perfect. The cabin, while cozy, could feel tight for longer stays; I’m 6’2” and brushed the ceiling turning in bed. But the real value was in the transitions: watching dawn break over Castle Rock from the bow, wrapped in a linen shawl, coffee in hand. This isn’t a floating palace. It’s something better—a vessel that keeps you close to the sea’s pulse.

Definitely a family-friendly itinerary.

We came to Komodo seeking quiet, and the La Sukha Speed Boat delivered not with silence, but with harmony. The rhythm of the voyage—waking to the sound of the anchor chain, breakfast as the sun cleared the cliffs—felt elemental. One morning, we swam at Taka Makassar, and I stayed in the water long after others returned, mesmerized by the way the light fractured through the surface. The boat, though modest in size, never felt cramped. The single cabin is well insulated, and the crew’s discretion was impeccable. They brought tea at just the right hour, without asking. My only suggestion: a portable Bluetooth speaker on deck for evening wind-downs. But perhaps that’s beside the point. What stays with me is the view from Castle Rock at dusk—the water turning molten, and the sense that we were somewhere beyond time.

Our family trip on the La Sukha Speed Boat was a deliberate step away from routine. With two children, we needed flexibility, and the crew delivered—adjusting meal times, organizing shallow snorkel zones. We spent a perfect morning at Kanawa Island, where the kids built sand tunnels while we floated nearby. The boat’s single cabin sleeps four with pullman bunks, and though compact, it felt cozy, not cramped. At Manta Point, even the youngest held her breath and saw a giant glide beneath. The 2015 build shows in minor wear—some deck varnish peeling—but safety and cleanliness were impeccable. Wi-Fi was nonexistent, which turned out to be a gift. By day three, we’d stopped asking for signal. What we gained was attention—to each other, to the sea, to the moment.

A única limitação?

La Sukha Speed Boat offered a masterclass in intimate seafaring. As part of a corporate retreat, we needed balance—team bonding and quiet contemplation. The boat delivered. Navigating to Crystal Rock at dawn, the water shimmered like crushed diamonds. Our dive there revealed kaleidoscopic reefs teeming with life. Later, Castle Rock’s currents brought sharks and barracuda—thrilling for seasoned swimmers. The 2015 build shows in subtle ways—the galley’s layout feels slightly dated—but the charm outweighs wear. The open deck became our boardroom by day, stargazing lounge by night. Captain Andi’s knowledge of local tides and wildlife added depth to every stop. For executives seeking meaningful disconnection, La Sukha is a compelling choice. Just pack motion-sickness bands—nights in open water can be restless.
