Sailing on the Dirga Kabila Boat with my sister and her husband, we found a rhythm that matched the gentle swell of the Savu Sea. At 22 meters, she’s compact but never feels cramped—our Master Suite had excellent ventilation and a thoughtful layout. The morning we anchored at Crystal Rock, the light hit the water just after dawn, turning the reef below into a prism. Snorkeled until our fingers pruned, then returned to a perfectly chilled Riesling on deck. Kalong Island at dusk was another highlight—the sky filled with thousands of flying foxes spiraling into the mangroves. The crew anticipated needs without hovering, though I’ll admit the Wi-Fi was more hopeful than functional, which, in hindsight, was perhaps a blessing. As a photography expedition, this was ideal: unhurried, well-structured, with guides who knew exactly where the reef sharks gathered. One night, anchored near Wainilu, we dined under a net of stars, no light pollution, just the creak of rigging and soft conversation. I’d have welcomed a seventh day—time slips too easily here.

Wir erreichten Wainilu bei Sonnenaufgang, als der Nebel noch über dem Wasser lag – ein Traum für jeden mit einer DSLR. Die Crew unterstützte aktiv, wo sie konnte: Ein extra frühstück um 5:30 Uhr, ein kleiner drone shot vom Achterdeck aus – alles kein Problem. Die Standard Cabins sind kompakt, aber clever gestaltet; für meine Ausrüstung fand ich genug Stauraum. Unser Tag auf Komodo Island war gut getimed, danach ging es entspannt weiter nach Long Beach, wo wir bis zum goldenen Licht blieben. Was auffiel: Das Abendessen war durchweg ausgezeichnet, besonders der gegrillte Mahi-Mahi. Nur ein kleiner Kritikpunkt: Die Dusche im Hauptbad hatte etwas Druck verloren, aber das wurde schnell behoben. Insgesamt ein sehr professioneller Betrieb – ruhig, diskret, ohne aufdringlichen Service. Genau, wie man es erwartet.

The ranger was very informative, dan guide dari boat juga menjaga jarak dengan baik—penting buat kami yang bawa ibu hamil. Snorkeling di Taka Makassar? Water clarity-nya insane, almost like aquarium. Anak ikan napoleon berenang dekat banget. Makanannya juga dijaga—mostly organic, simple but flavorful. Satu-satunya kecil: wifi di malam hari agak drop, tapi to be fair, we were in the middle of nowhere. Justru itu yang kami cari—digital detox. Bisa duduk di dek sambil lihat bintang, suara ombak, dan suami baca puisi. Worth every rupiah.

As a certified diver, I’m quite picky with dive operators. Dirga Kabila Boat surprised me — their dive master, Pak Adi, knows every corner of Crystal Rock like the back of his hand. Visibility was insane, and we saw pygmy seahorses! The boat itself is cozy, 4 cabins only jadi feel exclusive. Crew super responsive; they even prepared extra towels and hot chocolate after night dive. One minor thing: dive deck agak sempit kalau semua diver prepare gear barengan. Tapi overall, sangat profesional. We also did a quick stop at Kalong Island, sunset di sana? Cinematic banget. Worth every rupiah. If you want intimate diving experience with top-notch service, this is it.
