Komodo’s Unhurried Pulse
I’ve sailed the Mediterranean and the Caribbean, but Komodo, aboard the Dirga Kabila Boat, felt different—a place where time is measured in tides, not minutes. The 22-meter phinisi moves with a grace that belies her size. We spent two days near Wainilu, where the beach curves like a comma. From the top deck, I watched my nephew body-surf the gentle breakers. The crew set up a shaded picnic with spiced coconut rice and grilled mahi-mahi. Snorkeling at Castle Rock was exhilarating—currents strong, visibility sharp. I caught sight of a whitetip reef shark napping under an overhang. The Standard Cabin was modest but well-kept, though the porthole seal leaked during a downpour. A small flaw in an otherwise precise operation. The real luxury was the silence—no generators at night, just the lap of water. We ended at Kalong, where the sky emptied of bats at dusk. I’ve never seen anything like it.
Escape dari Rutinitas Jakarta
Setelah 3 bulan meeting nonstop, Dirga Kabila Boat jadi sanctuary. Cuma satu hal: air shower di kabin agak low pressure, but not a dealbreaker. Malam terakhir, crew buat bonfire kecil di Sebayur Island—romantic, tapi tetap eco-friendly. Rasanya bukan sekadar liburan, tapi real reset.

Fifty and Free on Komodo’s Waters
My fiftieth called for a reset—something bold but not exhausting. Dirga Kabila Boat offered that balance: adventure with comfort. I joined with two friends, and the four-cabin layout gave us privacy when needed. Hiking Padar Island at sunrise was the physical peak—challenging, then euphoric as the light revealed the tri-bay vista. Later, at Pink Beach, we swam in the shallows, the coral fragments giving the sand its blush. The crew celebrated with a simple toast—no speeches, just warmth. One evening, anchored near Kanawa Island, we dined on deck under lanterns, the conversation flowing as freely as the wine. The Wi-Fi was unreliable, but that felt right. This wasn’t about staying connected—it was about reconnecting with ourselves.
Dirga Kabila Boat menawarkan exactly that. Tapi crew cepat setup inside. Yang paling berkesan? Malam tanpa lampu, hanya suara ombak dan langit penuh bintang. Ini bukan sekadar trip—ini reset button.
Corporate Retreat That Actually Worked
Meeting spot di dek belakang sangat conducive—laut biru, angin sepoi-sepoi, no distractions. Makanan konsisten enak, terutama grilled mahi-mahi. Crew handle everything dengan professionalism. Hanya satu note: AC di satu kabin agak noisy, tapi mereka cepat ganti setting saat dilapor. Yang kusuka? Tidak ada email yang masuk—just presence. We came back aligned, not burnt out.

Anniversary Under Sail
We chose the Dirga Kabila Boat for our tenth anniversary, and it quietly exceeded every expectation. Arriving via Labuan Bajo, the crew greeted us with chilled lemongrass drinks and a simple floral garland—small gestures, but they set the tone. The Master Suite faced east, so we woke to sunrise over Komodo Island, the jagged silhouette sharp against a peach sky. Snorkeling at Crystal Rock was a highlight—vivid soft corals swaying in the current, and the occasional blacktip reef shark gliding beneath us. Dinners were served under the stars, often with just the two of us at the aft table. The food leaned traditional—turmeric-marinated tuna, jackfruit sambal—and deeply satisfying. My only quibble: the shower drainage slowed on day three, but it was fixed within an hour. What stayed with me was the silence at anchor, the sails gently flapping like breath. We didn’t need more than four days, though I’d understand wanting to linger. It wasn’t about extravagance, but the quality of attention—every detail felt considered, never fussed.
